Devon and Cornwall Police have released an image of a man they believe may be able to assist with enquiries after a woman was allegedly doused in beer at a Wetherspoons pub in Teignmouth, Devon
Police have issued an appeal following an incident in which a man hurled a pint of beer over a woman before lobbing the glass towards her at a Wetherspoon pub.
Devon and Cornwall Police reported that the episode unfolded around 5.15pm on May 13, when a man doused the victim with his drink while being asked to vacate a pub on Station Road in Teignmouth, believed to be the Jolie Brise Wetherspoon.
The man subsequently threw the glass in the direction of the woman before making his exit from the pub. Police stated that investigations have been underway since the incident was reported, and they are now ready to release an image to the public.
The force suspects that the man depicted may be able to aid their enquiries, reports Devon Live. Anyone who can provide assistance is urged to contact them via 101 or through the police website, quoting 50260122512.
Meanwhile, police were called to reports of a man being “shot in the neck” in Melling, Liverpool this morning (July 1). Merseyside Police were called to Waddicar Lane just before 11:15am as locals reported seeing armed officers jumping over garden fences during a search of the area.
A man in his 40s had reportedly been shot in the neck with an air rifle in the area. The man has since taken to hospital in a stable condition. A 35 year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of s18 wounding and possession of a firearm. He is currently in police custody.
Merseyside Police have launched an investigation and gone house-to-house, checking CCTV and making witness enquiries.
Police closed off Waddicar Lane between Rainbow Drive and Spencer’s Lane following the incident but it has now reopened.
A reporter for the Liverpool Echo spoke to locals claimed to have seen armed police “jumping fences into people’s gardens”.
A cordon remains in place outside a row of shops on the road, including a GoLocal newsagents and a pharmacy.
Sefton neighbourhood Chief Inspector Dave Uren said: “The investigation is in the very early stages as we speak to witnesses and establish what has taken place.
“A man has been taken to hospital and we have made an arrest but we would urgently appeal for anyone who was in the area of Waddicar Lane this morning who heard or saw anything suspicious to contact us.
“Weapons have no place on the streets of Merseyside as we know the devastation they can cause so my appeal would be for the public to support us by telling us what they know.”
