Wimbledon fans can now get even more involved with all the tennis action as one London location has launched a menu centred around the sporting event’s iconic snacks
Swap Centre court for the food court as three London venues are serving up a Wimbledon-inspired feast, featuring everything from Eaton Mess doughnuts to duck croquettes glazed with Pimm’s.
The limited-edition menu has landed at Market Place Food Hall to celebrate the return of Wimbledon and it’s packed with quirky twists on Britain’s favourite summer flavours. Strawberries and cream pancakes, loaded fries topped with strawberry relish, sweet and spicy strawberry chicken wings and even a Grand Slam sushi roll made with salmon, strawberries and cream cheese.
Those with a sweet tooth definitely won’t want to miss Bread Ahead’s Eaton Mess Doughnut filled with strawberries, cream and crunchy meringue, the strawberries and cream churros, Filipino-inspired turon and a rich dulce de leche pudding layered with fresh strawberries.
If you’re after something a little savoury, Duck Shed is serving Wimbleduck Croquettes made with slow-roasted pulled duck and a sticky Pimm’s, strawberry and black pepper sauce, while Cheeky Burger has created Animal Wimbledon Fries loaded with American cheese, crispy onions and a strawberry, balsamic and black pepper relish.
Even the drinks have had the Wimbledon treatment as Market Place Food Hall’s bar is mixing up a Strawberries & Cream Pimm’s & Champagne Cup, blending Pimm’s, vanilla vodka, cream, strawberries and Moët & Chandon Champagne into one boozy summer cocktail.
The special menu will be available throughout the Championships from June 29 until July 12 at Market Place Food Hall’s venues in Leicester Square, St Paul’s and Vauxhall, although some dishes are exclusive to selected locations.
Visitors can watch the tennis on big screens while enjoying drinks and street food throughout the tournament.
Holly Hilton, Marketing Director at Market Place Food Halls, said: “Wimbledon is one of the highlights of the British summer calendar, so we wanted to create a menu that captures the fun, nostalgia and iconic flavours people associate with the tournament.”
“From strawberries and cream inspired desserts to elevated savoury specials, this limited edition line up brings together some of our most creative traders for a true summer celebration across three of our venues.”
