Liverpool have been linked with a number of players in the transfer window, with the Reds reportedly eyeing Yan Diomande as they look to bolster their squad ahead of the new season
Andoni Iraola may need to smash through the £100million threshold for the first time in his managerial career if he wants to land a rumoured Liverpool target.
The Spaniard has already brought in Victor Munoz from Osasuna this summer, but is yet to follow up with further signings. The shortage of activity following the capture of the Spain international isn’t due to a lack of options, as the Reds have been connected with players throughout their defence, midfield and attack.
Among the players the Premier League giants have been associated with, Yan Diomande has received guidance should he leave RB Leipzig this summer. Meanwhile, there’s an update on Curtis Jones and his contract standoff. Here’s all the latest news from Anfield.

Contract standoff
Curtis Jones’ future at Anfield remains in doubt, with it unclear whether the midfielder will sign a new deal or head off for pastures new this summer.
The 25-year-old has been strongly linked to a switch to Inter Milan, with the Italian giants unwilling to pay his £35m asking price and hoping to get him for a cut-price £21m instead.
Jones only has 12 months left on his contract and the Reds run the risk of yet another talent – and in this case another homegrown academy graduate – leaving for free next June.
He is thought to not want a move to Nottingham Forest and now the Liverpool Echo have suggested Galatasaray as a possible destination.
The Star’s sister paper reported: “The midfield, too, is an area of intrigue, although Liverpool are unlikely to properly pursue any deals unless one or more of the current senior engine room is moved on.
“Curtis Jones – in the last 12 months of his contract – [is] the most obvious potential sale with Inter Milan, Nottingham Forest and Galatasaray among the clubs interested.”
Diomande transfer advice
Yan Diomande’s future remains uncertain, but recent guidance he’s received could be promising news for Liverpool supporters, , reports the Mirror.
Former Reds star Joe Cole has advised the Ivorian to disregard interest from PSG, despite rumours suggesting the winger has earmarked the French champions as his preferred destination should he depart RB Leipzig this summer.
“There’s a lot of top-level wingers in world football right now, but Diomande is as good as I’ve seen; he’s so explosive,” Cole stated, via Paddy Power. “My advice to him as a young player is, don’t bother going to PSG. Go to Liverpool because if they want you and there’s a hole in the team to play, then they really need you.
“PSG don’t need anybody, but maybe his heart is set on Paris. If that’s the case and he backs himself, I’ve got no problem with that. But if Liverpool still want him, go out and convince him because I think that would be the move that suits him best.”
The Reds have told the Bundesliga club they’ll stump up £86m for Diomande – a verbal bid that was turned down, with Leipzig previously suggesting that a fee of £112m would be sufficient to seal his signature.
