A former WWE champion was seeing stars after being brutally knocked out in his latest Power Slap appearance. Jake Hager, who performed as wrestler Jack Swagger, surprised combat sports fans earlier this year by signing up for Dana White’s highly controversial ‘stand and slap’ promotion.

The 44-year-old’s venture started with a bang back in March when he secured a third-round KO victory against Devin ‘Big Jinxx’ Jenkins. However, his second outing didn’t go quite as smoothly.

This time around, the tables were turned on the veteran athlete. Facing off against fellow former pro-wrestler Amanpreet Singh, Hager was caught by a thunderous strike in the third round that sent him crashing to the canvas.

Social media users showed little sympathy for the fallen star, with the brutal footage quickly going viral as fans flooded the comments section.

One viewer posted: “Bro was left throwing up gang signs.” A second wrote: “Deeply satisfying, I could watch it on loop.”

Wrestling fans will best remember the Oklahoma native as Jack Swagger in WWE, a promotion he spent 11 years with thanks to his elite amateur wrestling background.

His crowning achievement came in 2010 when he held the world championship for a 78-day reign before ultimately parting ways with the company in 2017.

Since hanging up his WWE boots, Hager has bounced around various combat sports disciplines with mixed success.

He initially transitioned into Mixed Martial Arts, racking up a respectable undefeated four-fight streak under the Bellator banner.

He was also heavily linked to a high-profile grappling showdown against UFC legend Jon Jones for the Fury Grappling organisation.

However, Hager ended up withdrawing from the contest, sparking a furious reaction from ‘Bones’ Jones on social media.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter) at the time, Jones said: “You can’t gloat about turning down a grappling match with the goat. You had the opportunity of a lifetime, now you’re doing interviews about what you would’ve done.”

In 2019, Hager juggled his MMA career with a return to pro-wrestling, signing with WWE’s main rival, All Elite Wrestling (AEW). His stint there lasted five years, but it appears his departure left a bitter taste in his mouth.

Immediately after winning his debut match in Power Slap earlier this year, Hager looked directly into the lens and screamed: “F*** you, Tony Khan!”

Khan is the billionaire owner of AEW and also serves as director of football for Premier League side Fulham.
