Sainsbury’s ‘legendary’ £15 paddling pool is ‘an oasis throughout heatwave’

Shoppers can save 25% on the Bestway paddling pool at the supermarket as the heatwave continues

Splish, splash, splosh for the summer! As families bake in the sun, there is even more fun to come in the coming weeks, with the school break almost here.

Those hoping to spend a few lazy days in the garden can enjoy summer fun relatively cheaply by picking up a paddling pool. In a timely offer, Sainsbury’s has just slashed the price of a Bestway 7ft Rectangle Paddling Pool.

Typically priced at £20, this inflatable pool has been knocked down to £15, allowing households to save 25% in the sizzling offer. It’s said to provide a quick and straightforward setup with ‘minimal’ assembly.

What’s more, the Bestway 7ft Rectangle Paddling Pool has a water capacity of 450L. This means it’s spacious enough to accommodate multiple people – including children and adults – while being shallow enough for safe splashing about.

The Bestway Paddling Pool is suitable for children aged three and above with adult supervision, reports the Liverpool Echo. It features a blue-and-white design and extra-wide sidewalls for sturdy construction.

Thanks to its quick-release air valves, the pool can be inflated within five minutes, according to Sainsbury’s. However, while the pool includes a repair kit, customers should be aware that an air pump isn’t included and will need to be purchased separately.

Sainsbury’s offer on the Bestway Paddling Pool beats rival retailers such as Argos, which sells it for £25. As another option, Amazon sells a larger 850L version for £54.99, also suitable for children aged three years and over, and it has an integrated drain valve.

Sainsbury’s also has summer savings on various other items to keep youngsters entertained, including the X-Shot Water Warfare Micro Fast-Fill Water Blaster at £3.99, down from £6. The pump-action water pistol is said to be the ‘fastest filling’ version created. It also shoots up to 26ft and holds up to 220ml of cool water.

There’s also the Stay Active Splash Out toy for £7.50 (down from £10). This is a fun family game where participants toss and catch a water balloon before the timer runs out, drenching players.

The supermarket also has a range of picnic essentials on offer, including the half-price Sainsbury’s Home Scandi Wiggle Picnic Rug for £6, which was previously £12. This vibrant and lightweight rug can be easily rolled up and transported, making it perfect for garden use or picnics elsewhere.

Shoppers can find plenty of entertaining outdoor games at Sainsbury’s too. For instance, this Wooden Snakes and Ladders is £11.99 (reduced from £18), and the Jenga-style Wooden Tumble Tower is £19.99 (originally £30).

For something a bit more energetic, the Swingball PRO Tennis Ball Game is currently discounted on Amazon. Now priced at £34.99 (down from £44.99), it features an adjustable height, an all-surface base, and a handle for easy transportation.

As for the Bestway 7ft Rectangle Paddling Pool, Sainsbury’s shoppers have yet to leave any reviews, but it has received high praise at Argos, where more than 1,100 customers have given it an average rating of 4.5 stars. A shopper said: “This pool is a great shape and size if you don’t have a large garden but want a pool big enough for children to play. I would say three to four younger children could play in the pool comfortably. It seems very durable, inflated easily and remains inflated when in use.”

Another user remarked: “Absolute life-saver during the heatwave. It is incredible.” However, the same person also offered a word of caution for prospective buyers, adding: “Don’t forget to buy an electric pump. It’s a lot of paddling pool to blow up with a manual bicycle pump.”

Meanwhile, a fourth person left a glowing review, adding: “I bought this 7ft Bestway rectangular pool from Argos last week during a moment of pure heatwave-induced desperation, and it has already earned its legendary status in our garden. If you are looking to swim Olympic laps, you might be disappointed. But if your goal is to submerge yourself in cool water while sipping a cold drink and pretending you’re at a luxury resort (ignoring the sound of the neighbour’s lawnmower), this pool is an absolute triumph.”

Someone else wrote: “I bought this during the heatwave just to keep cool. It inflates easily and is great to sit in with room for two adults. It’s our oasis during the extreme weather. Be great for small kids too.”
