Britain is being warned to ready itself for an end to the wall-to-wall sunshine, with wet conditions set to hit much of the country by the start of next week, according to the Met Office
Brits who have been enjoying the wall-to-wall sunshine look away now, because weather experts are predicting large parts of the UK to be hit by heavy rain over the next few days.
Meteorologists at the Met Office are forecasting wet weather in the north and northwest of England, with parts of Northern Ireland and Scotland also set to be impacted by rain.
The forecast, which will no doubt please gardeners across the country, also reckons that some of the rainy conditions could be felt further down south, although Brits should expert this to be much more patchy and mild than conditions in the north.
According to the Met Office from next week: “Northern and north-western areas will be cloudier with occasional patchy rain or drizzle. Into the weekend and perhaps the start of next week, more unsettled weather with rain at times, especially across northern parts of the UK.”
“This rain may very well reach southern areas too, but could become more light and patchy here.”
As reported by the Daily Mirror, the Met have named 12 parts of the country that are most likely to be impacted by the wet weather from Monday, with the majority of these in the north and east of the country.

While Monday is looking like a pretty grim day for much of the UK, conditions will apparently clear up for many Brits as the week goes on.
According to the Met, on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday it will be “staying settled through the week with patchy cloud and the odd shower in the north. Staying warm to very warm with temperatures in the mid to high 20s.”
Towards the backend of July, weather experts are predicting for even more sunshine and dry spells, with temperatures once again soaring.
The Met say: “There are signs that high pressure will return, which means dry conditions would resume, especially in the south.
“Winds will be mostly light or moderate, occasionally fresh around northern coasts. Temperatures are expected to be near or above normal, warmest in the south, perhaps becoming very warm again by the start of August.”
