Hot love
My partner has become obsessed with our successful ex-neighbour.
This woman runs her own company and lives in an amazing house. She has hot lovers and amazing clothes. My partner is so jealous and angry that our relationship is in freefall.
She monitors her idol on social media and physically stalks her too. She drives to her new house and sits outside.
Any time we go to bed, she fantasises about the great sex this other woman is ‘obviously’ having with her sexy lovers. I’m convinced she thinks about THEM whilst having sex with me, which turns my stomach.
I’m delighted that our old pal has hit the big time, but I don’t want to hear anything more about her.
JANE SAYS: Why isn’t your partner getting on with her own life and focusing on her own dreams and talents?
At the moment she is on the verge of getting herself into a lot of trouble. If she’s actively stalking your old neighbour and making a nuisance of herself, then there will be consequences.
Clearly this woman is a force to be reckoned with; she’s successful and has eyes and ears. With money comes power and, if she’s not careful, then your partner could find herself named and shamed and up in front of the police for harassment.
Tell her to let it go. Make it clear that you have no further interest in this matter and she’s to grow up and walk away. Explain that your relationship is now suffering because of this silly obsession. Does she care about you and your feelings?
Sex drought
My partner and I are no longer having sex because I’m so unhappy. I miss living in a city. I hate our new village life. My partner is at work all day and I work from home.
Our rented cottage is pretty but remote and the locals I HAVE tried to talk to aren’t interested in a newcomer like me because they have their own lives to live. I left so much behind when I quit my old life; my family, my mates, my social life.
I resent my partner for dragging me out here to live out HIS dream life. We’re rowing a lot. We’re not having sex because I’m so angry and can’t stand him coming near me.
JANE SAYS: Maybe you need to accept that you’ve tried country living – you don’t like it – and it’s time to start again.
If you’re struggling in a rural, isolated place; without friends or any kind of support, then what’s the point?
Your partner should be listening to you and supporting you. insist that you sit down together and go through your options. His dream isn’t necessarily your dream, and you must consider your mental well being.
Remember that we only get one shot at this life and that none of us are fit and young, fit and able forever.
