Man Utd information: Aurelien Tchouameni ‘inexperienced gentle’ as cut-price switch deal emerges

Manchester United are in the market for a defensive midfielder and Real Madrid’s Aurelien Tchouameni is reportedly a target, with Mourinho ready to sanction the £68m-rated star’s exit

Michael Carrick faces a busy transfer window

Manchester United’s summer window could be about to take a dramatic turn – and it’s all thanks to their local rivals Manchester City. Real Madrid are ready to make Rodri their latest Galactico, and it could open the door for Aurelien Tchouameni to move to Old Trafford.

Tchouameni has been linked to the Red Devils all summer, despite Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans joining from Chelsea and Aston Villa respectively, as the club seeks to capitalise on the advancement achieved under Michael Carrick.

With Champions League football a welcome return to the fixture list, United required squad reinforcement. The midfield was – and continues to be – a key area of focus. Following Friday’s friendly away to Rosenborg, here’s a summary of the latest United developments..

Jose Mourinho is reportedly prepared to allow Aurelien Tchouameni to depart for United to assist Real Madrid in financing a bid for Manchester City’s Rodri. Tchouameni, who endured a heated confrontation with Federico Valverde last season, has been linked to the Red Devls.

Following France’s disappointing World Cup exit, Tchouameni is now available to sort out his future, with United amongst the frontrunners to secure the £68m star. According to The Sun, if Real can shift Tchouameni, it would enable them to finance a move for Rodri.

The 30-year-old, coming off Spain’s World Cup triumph, is priced at approximately £85m but has only 12 months remaining on his City deal. While Mourinho is hesitant to release Tchouameni, he would be willing to do so if it means acquiring Rodri, reports the Mirror.

Man Utd weigh up Tyler Adams

Tyler Adams has been linked with Manchester United

Having been priced out of a deal for Alex Scott, United could pivot to one of his Bournemouth colleagues, Tyler Adams. According to the Daily Mail, the US international is obtainable for roughly £35m, half of what the Cherries are demanding for Scott.

While United are prepared to support Carrick further in the transfer window, budget-friendly signings will assist with PSR calculations. Like Scott, Adams, 27, has two years remaining on his deal and matches the profile of what United seek in a defensive midfielder.

His mobility and tackling statistics stacked up well against similar players last season. Adams was linked with a January switch to United, only to pick up a knee problem in Bournemouth’s 4-4 stalemate at Old Trafford in December, which sidelined him for two months.
