A rapper has been accused of dabbling in witchcraft after police searched the artist’s home and found dead animal corpses and a room they said was ‘full of Cuban Santeria/Voodoo witchcraft’
A rapper has been accused of engaging in disturbing ritual animal sacrifices. The accusation comes after police found an alleged animal sacrifice chamber at the home of the artist.
Officers also found a live baby goat at the rapper’s residence which they feared was at risk of being slaughtered. Numerous dead beheaded animal corpses were also found at the home, according to US reports.
Miami rapper Lazaro Lesteiro-Diaz, 26, was arrested on Thursday after an investigation into an alleged bank “spoofing scheme”. The rapper is said to have mentioned the alleged “spoofing scheme” in his music. While searching the rapper’s residence investigators found what they described as a room “full of Cuban Santeria/Voodoo witchcraft.”
At Lesteiro-Diaz’s home authorities reportedly found a live baby goat with orange paint markings circling the animal’s neck. It has been alleged the markings where to point out where on the animal it was to be slaughtered.
Investors also found two decapitated chickens behind the rapper’s house. The arrest report obtained by WPLG News said: “Subsequently, FBI agents discovered a video of Lesteiro-Diaz holding two dead chickens dangling by their feet in his hand, which are consistent with the dead chickens located.”
Police said the goat was immediately removed from the property and placed into the care of Miami Animal Rescue.
The goat is currently in the care of Felix Varela High School’s Veterinary Academy. One student at the school said the animal was “really scared” when it first arrived.
The unnamed student told WSVN: “When he got here, he was really scared. We got him in the stall with hay, water, and he ate some food.”
The rapper’s Miami-Dade home was descended upon by authorities as neighbours’ cameras captured footage of the alleged ordeal last Thursday.
Investigators are said to have seized several items during the raid, including a Glock 21 firearm with an extended magazine. Alongside the weapon they discovered ammunition, multiple identification documents, suspected cannabis.
A call centre headset and cash were also found at the home. The rapper is currently being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.
Lesteiro-Diaz – who performed under the names Drakula and YungLazz – has been taken into custody and allegedly admitted during an interview that the seized items belonged to him.
He has been charged on five counts. The counts include possession of a controlled substance, money laundering, organized scheme to defraud, unlawful possession of identification and animal cruelty with intent to injure or kill.
