The adult star and influencer has reportedly reached a plea deal which could see any potential sentence shortened, but she will still need the approval of a judge to confirm it
An adult star accused of stabbing her boyfriend to death has reportedly reached a plea agreement that may see her avoid life behind bars.
Online influencer and X-rated content producer Courtney Clenney is currently due to stand trial over the killing of her partner Christian Obumseli, who died from a knife wound in April 2022, with Clenney remaining in custody since August of the same year.
And now the 30-year-old has reportedly agreed to a plea deal, something which usually means receiving a reduction in charges or a lighter sentence. However, the specific terms of the agreement are yet to be disclosed and need to be approved by a judge.
Clenney’s lawyers have chosen not to comment on the plea deal, reportedly saying: “We will reserve further comment on the specific terms until they are placed on the record before the Court.
Clenney, who was 26 at the time of her arrest, allegedly stabbed Christian Obumseli to death in their plush Miami, Florida, US, pad in April 2022 but denies second-degree murder with a weapon. Kim Clenney is accused of taking the crypto-trader’s computer from the murder scene after it was missed by investigators, before accessing it with a password supplied by his daughter.
The model and Obumseli, a cryptocurrency trader, had been dating less than two years at the time of his death on April 3, 2022.
She was previously arrested for domestic battery in Las Vegas, and police were called to their home in Austin, Texas, on several occasions.
The pair moved to Miami at the beginning of the year and staff and residents at the One Paraiso building where they lived reported multiple domestic disturbance complaints about the couple, and had even moved to evict them.
Police reports state that officers arrived at their Miami residence around 5pm in response to a call about an aggravated battery when the stabbing incident took place.
Clenney was pictured wearing a blood-soaked robe and sweatpants, while Obumseli was rushed to hospital after being stabbed in the torso. He was pronounced dead on arrival.
Having initially claimed self-defence to officers, Clenney was eventually charged with Obumseli’s murder several months later, while at a rehab centre in Hawaii.
