Manchester United came from behind to beat Atletico Madrid 2-1 in Stockholm and claim the Snapdragon Cup, with Bryan Mbeumo scoring twice in the second half
Manchester United secured consecutive pre-season victories as they fought back to defeat Atletico Madrid in Stockholm and lift the Snapdragon Cup.
United fell behind early when Arnau Ortiz’s delivery from the left somehow bypassed everyone in a crowded penalty box and nestled inside Tom Heaton’s far post. Yet Michael Carrick’s team proved superior throughout and merited their equaliser when Shea Lacey earned a spot-kick that Bryan Mbeumo duly dispatched.
Jack Fletcher then provided the assist for Mbeumo to net his second Here’s how Daily Star Sport rated how every United player performed in Stockholm…

Tom Heaton, 7 – Would have felt disappointed with the goal he let in but produced one excellent stop just before the interval and showed reliable handling after the restart, reports the Manchester Evening News.
Leny Yoro, 7 – Ought to have won the aerial duel for the opening goal but recovered well thereafter. Combined effectively with Amad and defended solidly along the flank. Appears a viable option at right-back.
Harry Maguire, 6 – Caught off guard as Ortiz’s delivery reached him but did move aside. Late confusion with Heaton and not his finest display.
Ayden Heaven, 7 – Magnificent, defence-splitting pass to release Dorgu down the left channel. The offside flag was raised but it was marginal and showcased Heaven’s excellence in possession.
Luke Shaw, 6 – Outpaced rather too comfortably in advanced areas on several occasions as Atletico enjoyed success down his flank. A stark reminder that reinforcements remain essential.
Andrey Santos, 7 – A touch too relaxed with an early pass back to Heaton that he played blind and nearly surrendered possession. Showed for the ball regularly though and his distribution was solid.
Mason Mount, 8 – Applied pressure brilliantly once more and proved tenacious and scrappy in the middle of the park. Married that with some crisp touches and appeared the standout performer.
Amad, 7 – Outstanding press to fashion one opening for Mbeumo and displayed some lovely, assured touches in his maiden pre-season appearance.
Shea Lacey, 8 – Whipped in a delightful right-footed delivery for Mbeumo that the forward headed narrowly wide. Some tidy footwork at times, never better than when nutmegging his marker in the area to earn a spot-kick.
Patrick Dorgu, 6 – Grafted tirelessly down the left flank but mistimed his run on one occasion and squandered another promising opportunity following another clever Heaven ball.
Bryan Mbeumo, 8 – Directed a first-half header off target but made no error with a calmly converted penalty after the break and was perfectly positioned to claim his brace. Appears a solid choice centrally.
Jack Fletcher, 7 – Entered for Amad on the right flank. Put in a decent shift and harried effectively to retrieve possession for Mbeumo’s second strike.
Dan Armer, 6 – Valuable experience after coming on for Maguire.
Harry Amass, 6 – Wasn’t afforded much opportunity to impress.
Ethan Williams, 7 – Tidy combination play centrally.
Joshua Zirkzee, 6 – Initial touch was to dispatch a pass into touch. Improved thereafter.
JJ Gabriel, 7 – Sharp movement and a few glimpses of that ability.
