Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are set to unexpectedly quit life in the US and to return to the UK after six years living away with their two children, it is claimed. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are expected to return to the UK with Lilibet and Archie to enrol in school over here.
The couple have not officially confirmed the news themselves. But multiple outlets have reported on Wednesday night that the couple’s shock return has been in the pipeline for months and could be completed by the end of August.
It is claimed his father King Charles was not told of the news during Harry’s last UK visit. Instead, he only learned his son, daughter-in-law and two of his grandchildren were returning to the country last Sunday.
The Sussexes, who had a reunion with His Majesty last month, are said have found a new home in the UK.
It is reported they will move into a private, non-royal residence thought to be outside London.
They will not be working royals but will continue with their business enterprises.
But while there are no current plans for either of the couple to return to their official working roles within the Royal family, the move does open the door for them to do so in the future.
The couple are said to have already secured a secret new home for their return. The exact location of their new home has been kept under wraps, but there are a number of locations they could choose from.
For example, The Cotswolds is increasingly popular with American A- listers who want to live quietly and discreetly, and it is near to the King’s Highgrove Estate.
Beyonce previously eyed up a property in the area, but later ditched plans to move. Former talk show host Ellen DeGeneres also had a property there. She has previously been close neighbours and friends with Meghan in California.
In July, the Sussexes were guests at Highgrove in nearby Gloucestershire, while Princess Diana’s childhood home at Althorp House in Northamptonshire has been touted as a possible destination. It is where her grave is and where his uncle Earl Spencer lives.
The bombshell news comes six years after the couple’s infamous Megxit move to the US when they stepped down as working Royals and relocated to California.
In Afghanistan in 2008, Harry said: “I generally don’t like England that much.”
His mother Diana died in a 1997 car crash while she was chased by Paparazzi in Paris.
On Apple TV+ show The Me You Can’t See in 2021, he added: “For most of my life I always felt worried, concerned, a little bit tense and uptight whenever I fly back into the UK. For me, London is a trigger because of what happened to my mum.”
