GB News halted in fiery conflict over King Charles well being fears after Harry return

GB News was paused during a discussion on King Charles’s health after royal expert Charles Rae addressed rumours linked to Prince Harry’s UK return

A former royal reporter has lashed out over speculation about King Charles’s health

Former royal reporter Charles Rae unleashed a scathing attack on commentators speculating about King Charles’s health during a live GB News broadcast. The outburst followed claims that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle plan to return to Britain with their children, Archie and Lilibet, and make peace with the monarch amid rumours over his medical state.

Blasting the ongoing speculation, Rae branded the public commentary as “ridiculous” and “wrong.” He said: “I have to say, I think it is ridiculous that we are speculating, or there are people speculating about the King’s health.

“Everything that we have been told, and there’s no reason to doubt it because we have seen it ourselves. The King looks fantastic whenever we see him out on the streets.”

He then referenced Queen Camilla’s recent update, where she revealed that the King is “determined to beat” his cancer, reports the Express.

Rae added: “I think it’s wrong that people do speculate about the King’s health in this. It’s hard to say whether it was a factor or not.” He suggested that Prince Harry faces a “long road” to regain the King’s confidence.

“He’s also got to win back the trust of the British people and at the moment a large majority of them don’t think he should be back in this country with his wife,” Rae said.

King Charles has mostly kept details of his cancer battle private. In February 2024, Buckingham Palace revealed he had been diagnosed with “a form of cancer” following a procedure to address an enlarged prostate the previous month.

Charles suspended public-facing duties after his diagnosis before resuming royal responsibilities in April 2024.

In December, the King provided an uplifting health update, saying that the frequency of his treatment could be “significantly reduced”, though the Palace hasn’t confirmed if he is either in remission or cured.

Buckingham Palace said at the time that Charles had “responded exceptionally well to treatment,” with his recovery reaching a “very positive” phase.

Meanwhile, the Sussexes, who had a reunion with His Majesty last month, are said to have already found a new home in the UK.

It is reported they will move into a private, non-royal residence thought to be outside London. They will not be working royals but will continue with their business enterprises.
