‘Goes on easily, evens my skin tone and doesn’t make me breakout – I’ll be a repeat customer’
While consistent use is particularly important in spring and summer, sunscreen should be worn daily. UVA rays, which contribute to skin ageing and damage, are present year-round and can penetrate even through clouds and glass.
But many SPFs tend to be sticky, heavy or leave a white cast – which puts many of us off using them. And that’s why Frances van der Velden, who was diagnosed with skin cancer at 36, launched Airyday.
The Australian SPF brand has curated a collection of SPF50+ formulas designed around different skin types and finish preferences. Whether shoppers want a glow, a blurred effect or something entirely undetectable, there’s a product for everyone.

Among the bestselling and award-winning offerings is the Golden Glow SPF50+ Dreamscreen (£39), which has accumulated over 1,400 reviews. The formula not only delivers SPF50+ protection, but also features a transparent golden tint for a radiant, bronzed finish.
Despite the golden hue, Airyday maintains it is designed to complement all skin tones, though Pearl Glow and Bronze Glow alternatives are also available, enabling beauty enthusiasts to discover their ideal shade. What distinguishes this product from other SPF-infused primers is that Airyday’s formulation prioritises sun protection, with cosmetic advantages serving as a welcome extra, reports the Mirror.
Golden Glow SPF50+ Dreamscreen 75ml
Golden Glow gives skin an instant sun-kissed, luminous finish with a sheer golden tint that warms and perfects without looking like foundation.
Airyday’s Golden Glow delivers SPF50+ broad-spectrum UVA and UVB protection and claims to be water resistant for up to 40 minutes. It’s also brimming with beneficial ingredients such as niacinamide, recognised for its brightening and skin-supporting qualities, plus vegan collagen to help maintain hydration and elasticity.
Hyaluronic acid works to hydrate and plump the skin’s appearance, while vitamins C, E and F are incorporated to support the skin barrier, moisture retention and a more uniform-looking complexion. There’s also Blue Oleoactif, a plant-derived active formulated to help shield against urban pollution and blue light exposure.
Meanwhile, the Supergoop! Glowscreen Sunscreen Sunrise SPF 30 PA+++ with Hyaluronic Acid + Niacinamide can be found at Sephora. Retailing for £32, it comes in four shades, though it doesn’t offer as high a UV protection factor as Airyday.
At Cult Beauty, the Kosas DreamBeam Sunscreen SPF 30 40ml was £37 but has been reduced to £29.60. Available in two shades with SPF30, it’s also enriched with peptides to hydrate, plump and brighten, plus ceramides to visibly brighten and smooth.
Back at Airyday, the Golden Glow SPF50+ Dreamscreen has received 4.9 rating from over 1,400 reviews. One reviewer commented: “I wear this every day, it provides a beautiful glow on its own or under make up. It is light weight and has a beautiful fresh fragrance – best SPF I have used for my face.”
A second added: “Smooth, silky and invisible – I absolutely love using this product!”
A third commented: “Super lightweight, and doesn’t sting or irritate my eyes. Highly recommend it.”
The product appeals across age groups too. One shopper aged over 65 revealed she had repeatedly repurchased Golden Glow: “It gives my sensitive skin a lovely healthy glow and protects against the elements, will be a constant as part of my skincare routine.”
Another shopper echoed: “This product is gold, I live in the tropics and in the sun and it feels amazing. I wear it underneath makeup and the glow is stunning, best sunscreen formula I have ever used.”
The product features a champagne and peony scent, and while numerous customers lauded the fragrance, one reviewer felt it was overpowering. They wrote: “I love everything about this Dreamscreen apart from the smell.
“This has everything I want from an SPF which is high factor 50, broad spectrum, a lovely non greasy but dewy finish and a light sheer golden glow. What makes this even more special is that although there is a tint to it I can still put the same safe amount of sunscreen on.
“So although I don’t like the smell, I will put up with it because it’s all I have ever wanted from sun protection for my face.” Another described it as ‘by far the best face sunscreen I’ve used’, noting: “Goes on easily, evens my skin tone and doesn’t make me breakout – I’ll be a repeat customer.”
Should Golden Glow not appeal to you, there are various other SPF50+ alternatives available. For those favouring a more velvety texture, Mineral Mousse SPF50+ (£39) boasts a featherlight mousse consistency and a blurring, velvet-matte finish, rendering it especially appropriate for oily and combination skin types.
For those with sensitive, reactive or acne-prone skin, Pretty in Zinc SPF50+ (£39) offers a breathable mineral formulation with a soft-blurring, second-skin finish. Meanwhile, anyone seeking a completely invisible SPF will appreciate the Clear As Day SPF50+ (£39), a weightless invisible gel that absorbs seamlessly into skin, delivering a hydrated, dewy finish ideally suited to dry and dehydrated complexions.
