A British adult star says her massive online earnings has made her a target for stalkers and thieves, forcing her to spend around £250,000 on security after break-ins
A British social media star has built the kind of online career most creators can only dream of. Lauren Alexis was already an established influencer before joining a popular adult content platform in 2020.
She claims to earn six figures a month from the X-rated content since launching her page. But behind the designer handbags and millions of views has been a much darker side to internet fame.
Lauren revealed she has dealt with repeated stalkers, people turning up at her home, men waiting outside venues for her and a string of terrifying robberies and break-ins across the UK and abroad. The situation became so serious that Lauren estimates she has spent around £250,000 on personal security over the years and at one point hired close protection for simply going for dinner or drinks with friends.
She said: “I’ve had people follow me before. I’ve had people wait outside places that I’m at, or I’ve had people come to my house.
“If people know you make money, you’re obviously a target.” One of the most frightening incidents happened while Lauren was living in a penthouse in Essex.
According to Lauren (laurenalexis_x), a man approached the building’s concierge carrying a photograph of her and simply asked whether she lived there. The employee allegedly confirmed not only that Lauren was a resident, but that she lived in the penthouse on the top floor.
Later, in the early hours of the morning, the stranger appeared at the building. She recalled: “He came, I’m assuming, at like one or two in the morning, and he was ringing the intercom just saying my name constantly.
“It was so creepy.” Lauren’s manager, who was with her at the time, answered.
“He was like, ‘I know who lives here and I’m going to wait for her,’” he recalled. Lauren says the security breach frightened her enough that she moved out soon afterwards.
It was far from an isolated incident. After leaving a London nightclub following an event, Lauren says another man was waiting outside.
“He was just like, ‘Oh, I knew you were here. I’ve been waiting for you.’
“It was really weird.” It was another security guard who urged Lauren to begin taking her own protection more seriously.
“He turned around to me and was like, ‘You should have someone with you. You are a small, petite young girl.
“You shouldn’t be leaving these places without somebody having your back.’” From then on, close protection became an ordinary part of Lauren’s life.
“We’ve had so many situations where people, when I’ve been at parties or a club or abroad, have tried coming over to me or tried to grab me or touch me,” she said. “I always have someone with me.
“They might not be stood right by my side, but I’ve always got him there. Even if I was going just for dinner and drinks with the girls, I would have a security person at the same location meeting me afterwards.
“If we were going for drinks, just me and my friend, they would still be there.” But even having professional security with her was not enough to prevent Lauren’s most serious robbery.
During a three-week trip to Los Angeles, Lauren and her team were staying in a luxury Airbnb. On their final night, they went out for dinner for what Lauren estimates was around 90 minutes.
When they returned, windows had been smashed and the property had been ransacked. Lauren says almost everything valuable she had brought to LA was gone.
“From probably just me alone, it was about 100 grand worth of valuables that they stole,” she said. “They took all my Louis Vuitton bags, all my expensive shoes, and jewellery.
“It was a lot.” Her passport was also taken, leaving her temporarily stranded in Los Angeles.
She further recalled: “We were in the house and they came back. We could hear them downstairs.”
Lauren barricaded herself inside the master bedroom while her close-protection officer waited nearby in case the men came upstairs. The robbery meant Lauren was unable to travel directly from Los Angeles to Qatar for a Misfits event because she had to wait for a replacement passport.
She said: “If I’m in a hotel, I’ll never post it. If I’m at a restaurant, I’ll never post it until afterwards.”
Lauren would later experience another robbery while travelling in Marbella, and then an attempted break-in at her home in England which she describes as perhaps the “creepiest” of them all. Only two months after she moved into the property, two masked men dressed in black entered while Lauren’s brother and manager were still inside.
Lauren says police believed the men may have been watching the property before she left. “As soon as we left, within like five minutes or maybe 10 minutes, they broke in through the only window in the house that hasn’t got an alarm system,” she said.
She added: “The intruders seemed to know their way around the house and where they were going. They brought their own ladder.
“You could see them on the CCTV. It was two guys and they were all in black, masked.”
Lauren’s brother was upstairs watching TV when one of the intruders opened his bedroom door. Her brother initially believed it was Lauren’s friend before noticing muddy footprints across the house and seeing a masked man dressed in black.
The intruders fled the scene before they were discovered, leaving Lauren’s collection of designer handbags untouched. But the psychological impact lasted far longer.
She said: “I’d sit in my car for like an hour and wait for someone else to get home because I was too scared of getting out of the car. I’d call someone to meet me on the driveway because I was so terrified.”
Her home is now protected by extensive security, cameras and three large dogs, two Rottweilers and a German Shepherd, while Lauren continues to use close protection when she believes an event or appearance requires it.
