A family in Co Clare have painted a giant ‘F*** Trump’ slogan in the field behind their house, positioned directly under the flight path for Air Force One at Shannon Airport as Donald Trump jets into Ireland for a golf weekend
A family are making their feelings about Donald Trump abundantly clear as he flies into Ireland after they placed a huge explicit message to the US president across the field behind their home.
Despite the public and protestors being kept at arm’s length from the US president during his golfing weekend in Ireland, with Phoenix Park entirely closed off today (September 11), this particular message might just catch his eye while on Air Force One.
The enormous message reads ‘F*** TRUMP‘, and the woman who convinced her husband to whip out the pitch marker told the Ray Foley Show on Today FM that they are indeed situated on the flight path for the main runway at Shannon Airport.
This is where Air Force One, the presidential plane, along with the helicopters he’ll be using to commute to and from his golf course at Doonbeg, will be flying.
The woman who spoke to Ray Foley revealed she had intended to join the protest outside the Trump golf course and hotel. However, stringent security measures mean any Irish citizens attempting to exercise their right to protest will be kept well away from Trump throughout the weekend.
This is just one of several creative protests against the visit by the US president, who is widely blamed for triggering one of the worst energy crises – and a significant surge in energy costs – in recent memory due to his conflict with Iran, reports Cork Beo.
In Dublin, which is also under the flightpath of Air Force One and its accompanying helicopters, a huge sand mural protesting US president Donald Trump’s visit to Ireland has materialised on a beach in Dublin bay.
The massive mural was created by campaign group Uplift bearing the message “Trump is not welcome here.” In footage shared on social media, Uplift revealed the mural, which states: “No kings. Gaza. Iran. ICE”.
The clip also demonstrates how the artwork was put together. The organisation declared: “A message from Ireland to the world; Trump is not welcome here.
“The Uplift community stands with the people of Gaza and all those suffering around the world because of Trump and his actions. Share this video so the world knows that despite the government’s official welcome to Trump, people across Ireland don’t want him here.”
Trump is anticipated to touch down in Dublin early on Saturday morning before heading to the Phoenix Park where he will meet President Catherine Connolly and Taoiseach Micheál Martin. He is then expected to travel to his golf resort in Doonbeg for the Irish Open tournament.
