All Elite Wrestling (AEW) has announced the death of Benjamin Satterley, originally from Newcastle, who performed under the ring name Pac in AEW and Adrian Neville in WWE
A British wrestler has tragically died aged 40, just one day after his final match, organisers have confirmed.
All Elite Wrestling ( AEW ) announced the passing of Benjamin Satterley, originally from Newcastle, on Monday (September 28). Throughout a career spanning two decades, he competed under the ring names Pac in the AEW and Adrian Neville in the WWE.
The announcement came in the early hours of Monday morning (September 28) UK time – merely 24 hours after his final ever contest. A spokesperson said: “All Elite Wrestling is saddened to announce the passing of Benjamin Satterley, aka Pac.
“A native of Newcastle upon Tyne, England, Satterley began his wrestling career in 2004 and went on to perform for wrestling organizations all over the world, captivating fans with innovative high-flying moves and incredible in-ring ability.
“Pac signed with All Elite Wrestling in 2019 and held multiple AEW Championships and competed in some of the most memorable matches in AEW history.”, reports the Express.
“Our condolences go out to Satterley’s family, friends and fans.”
Satterley wrestled in the WWE from 2012 to 2018 before switching to AEW in 2019, where he established himself as an experienced performer renowned for his intense and gripping displays.
Moving tributes have poured in beneath the statement shared on Instagram. One dedicated fan wrote: “Heartbreaking, thank you for all the memories for over a decade.”
Another added: “Rest in Peace PAC, watched you since the NXT days. My condolences”. A third exclaimed: “No way! Pac ruled, I just watched him fight last night! RIP!”.
Satterley made his final bow in Chicago on Saturday evening, squaring off against AEW national champion Andrade.
The cause of Satterley’s death has not been revealed. AEW is also grieving the loss of fellow wrestler Andy “The Butcher” Williams, who tragically died following a heart attack earlier in September.
