‘It’s a simple, convenient and affordable option for helping manage moisture in smaller spaces’
Now that the colder weather is here, many people will be facing issues of damp and condensation in their homes. One product which could help is a dehumidifier – and there’s one at Yimbly, an online marketplace owned by this site’s parent company, Reach Plc, which is grabbing shoppers’ attention.
The Clayr Reusable 1,000ml Dehumidifier is currently available for £14.99, down from £24.99. However, with the code AUTUMN10 at checkout, shoppers can snap it up for even cheaper at £13.50, and there are three colours to choose from.
The dehumidifier is said to offer ‘silent, power-free moisture control with maximised airflow’ – and there are no batteries or electricity needed. All shoppers need to do is insert a tablet and place it in the desired space, and the product will do the rest of the work.

It works by using calcium chloride tablets, and is said to be ideal for damp-prone areas, as it helps to reduce condensation, mould and odours while keeping the air fresher and drier. It has a large 1,000ml capacity and comes with two 450g refill tablets.
Each tablet is said to last up to 70 days, and the dehumidifier has a silicon anti-spill cap to help prevent leakage while allowing ‘continuous moisture collection’. The plastic container is fully reusable and, with the refill tablets, it is described as a ‘cost-effective solution’ compared to disposable moisture absorbers.

As an alternative, shoppers could pick up this Lakeland Small Reusable Dehumidifier in white for £24.99. Described as an ‘energy-efficient way to regulate your home’s humidity’, this operates for one week on full charge and has a charge indicator light.
Or at Morphy Richards, there’s the PureFresh 0.9L Dehumidifier in grey for £49.99, which also comes in white. This portable, small dehumidifier has smart features, such as ambient lights, to create a ‘relaxing atmosphere’. The site says it is most effective for small bedroom areas, wardrobes and closets, small kitchens, caravans, window sills and drying damp walls.
While there are no reviews for the Clayr Reusable 1,000ml Dehumidifier on Yimbly’s site, others have taken to Amazon to share their thoughts. One shopper wrote: “The fact that it doesn’t require any power is fab. Simply set it up and let it do its thing. I really like the design, too. It’s nice, neat and compact, so it doesn’t take up much space.
“It’s grey in colour, which works really well with my home decor and means it doesn’t look out of place sitting around the house. I particularly like the anti-spill lid. As the unit collects salty liquid (brine) from the moisture in the air, the lid helps prevent it from leaking out if the absorber gets accidentally bumped, knocked over or moved around. This gives me a bit more peace of mind.
“I think it’s not bad value for money, especially with the two refill tabs included. It’s a simple, convenient and affordable option for helping manage moisture in smaller spaces.”
A second person wrote: “I was waking up to a window full of water. Since I have this, the window is totally dry after every night. The best I could buy. I have one in the seating room, too. Thanks.”
While a third added as part of a longer review: “The fact it comes with two refill tabs makes it really affordable. I couldn’t find this specific brand for refills, but it appears to be universal and any brand on Amazon should fit it when needed. I immediately bought a second one after the first was delivered. I highly recommend.”
Others, however, left some feedback. While one shopper noted that it’s a “simple way to collect moisture in places your electric dehumidifier won’t fit”, they did say in their longer review: “Much slower and less capable than an electric dehumidifier.”
Another said it “works in smaller areas”, but continued: “The only issue I had was the lid. I thought it would click and hold, but turns out it is just a soft fit and pets and kids can knock it off too. The same applies to the base, it is narrower than the top so if you have curious pets, you may want to place it in a safer area.”
