The new Nintendo Switch Sports Resort has dropped and we’ve found a way to get it for under £30 – beating Nintendo’s £49.99 launch price
Gaming gifts, whether that’s a shiny Nintendo Switch console or the latest title, are set to top countless parents’ wish lists as the festive season draws near – even for those who spent the 2000s glued to the sofa playing tennis or bowling on a Wii.
The new Nintendo Switch Sports Resort landed at the start of the month as a follow-up and expanded sequel to the much-loved, nostalgia-laden Wii Sports Resort. Ahead of the gift-giving season, we’ve found a way to bring the price down below £30 – significantly cheaper than Nintendo’s own launch price for the physical game.
Argos has already undercut Nintendo’s £49.99 price tag, selling it for £41.49, but we can show you how to get it for even less. The trick is to buy through the deals site TopCashback, where signing up as a new member effectively brings the price down to £26.11.

This is because the platform rewards new members with a £15 sign-up bonus, which can be redeemed on their first purchase alongside the cashback, meaning new TCB and Argos members will effectively pay just £26.11 after cashback. In contrast, new TCB members who are existing Argos customers can bring it down to £26.32.
The figures above are based on click and collect orders, but those who prefer home delivery will pay an additional £4.95 postage. That said, even with delivery factored in, it still comes in below Nintendo’s retail price, reports Birmingham Live.

What’s new on Nintendo Switch Sports Resort?
With precise Joy-Con tracking, the game delivers tactile, responsive feedback. Split-screen multiplayer makes it ideal for family game nights or social gatherings.
The game breathes new life into much-loved classics through a 12-sport collection, featuring the familiar favourites of golf, bowling and tennis – similar to those found in the rival Instant Sport 2.
Sport Resort has proven a hit thanks to its nostalgic nod to interactive gaming from the 2000s, where titles such as Just Dance also found their footing. Now priced at £34.95 on Amazon, it remains a firm household favourite.
Nintendo Switch Sports Resort has also introduced additional sports, including power cruising. Players can even skateboard using the Joy-Con 2 mouse controls to lean and glide their way around the course.
Nintendo Switch Sports Resort leaves players ‘awed by real-life movements’
In early responses, gamers have quickly shared that they’ve been left ‘in awe’. Writing on Metacritic, one player said: “As someone who played the original Wii Sports when it first released, and was awed by the rudimentary real-life movements being mimicked on screen.”
Another gamer said: “A fun but unambitious new sports game collection that features the best motion controls the series has ever seen, but disappointingly few surprises.”
Colleagues at The Daily Star evaluated the range of sports on offer. Tom Hutchison remarked: “A big benefit of this game of course remains the physicality of the rivalry between household members.”
He went on to describe the experience of the motion-controlled sports: “Archery too felt great, pulling your arms apart holding two controllers to fire an arrow. Very good. But others fell flat on me.
“Basketball didn’t gel well at all, with odd ways of moving through the court hindering the feel of a real game. And the whole mouse-is-skateboard thing felt like a way of trying to justify the Joy-Con 2 mouse controls a bit too much.”
