Is Adele about to drop a secret album? Singer explores expertise of fame and her London roots in new music

Adele has sparked rumours she is set to drop a secret album before the end of the year which will explore her experience of fame and her London roots.

A very senior music industry source told the Daily Mail that the 16-time Grammy Award winner has completed her new album which she has actually secretly been working on for four years, since 2022. ‘I hear that it is done,’ they said.

Adele is set to simply drop the new music overnight unannounced, as Beyonce famously did in 2013.

That would happen as soon as this month, with November being the best time of the year for music releases.

The superstar previously dropped her last two albums in November, including hit 25 in 2015 and five years ago on November 19, she released her fourth album 30.

The release of Adele’s last album, 30, was a full-scale old media rollout, with covers of US and UK Vogue and the release of a concert film.

This time around, though, the Daily Mail is told that the Easy On Me singer is going to do things ‘the modern way’ like artists she admires including Kendrick Lamar and simply release it without fanfare in its entirety.

Sources say that the album, which could be called 39, will explore her experience of fame and her London roots.

As to a tour, Adele still hates the experience of touring, which she finds not compatible with her commitments to son Angelo, by first husband Simon Konecki, who is 14 and in school.

However, a ‘hold’ has been put on some immense venues in the UK over the summer, and the word is that she is weighing the idea of doing just a few really huge engagements for fans in the summer holidays.

She famously performed a residency in Las Vegas in 2024 and another in Munich, Germany. Both were enormously lucrative.

It’s already been reported that Adele has been recording songs with producer Paul Epworth at Church Studios in north London. Talk of a secret concert at Camden’s Roundhouse this autumn came to nothing.

She’ll be seen early next year in her acting debut in the Tom Ford film Cry To Heaven, a period drama based on the 1982 novel by Interview With The Vampire author Anne Rice.

The news comes after Adele’s sports agent partner Rich Paul sparked rumours they secretly got married as he called the singer ‘my wife’ in a new video.

The couple, were first linked back in 2021 after they attended an NBA game together.

Adele confirmed their engagement three years later, during her concert performance in Munich, Germany.

She shared the news with the audience after a fan in the crowd jokingly proposed to her, replying: ‘I can’t marry you, because I’m already getting married.’

Since their engagement, Adele has sparked marriage rumours as she frequently refers to her man as her ‘husband’, leading fans to believe they secretly tied the knot.

Now, in a new video posted online, Rich has fuelled the whispers once again.

The entrepreneur appeared in a Media Haus Co clip, where he was challenged by Rel Tait to do a crossword in 60 seconds.

Rel asked: ‘When was the last time you did a word search?’

Rich replied: ‘Man, it’s been a while. But my wife does them every morning.’

It comes after Rich gave a rare insight into his five-year relationship with Adele.

During a appearance on Craig Melvin’s Glass Half Full podcast, he revealed that the pair had met ‘through a friend’, adding that he ‘had known her for some time’ before they began dating.

Expanding further, he explained: ‘You know, just when you’re in these circles, man, you’re in these circles. But I never tried to get fresh with people that’s in comfortable circles because they always have to deal with that, so that was never my thing.

‘It was really something that happened very organically, really.’

When pushed further to reveal how they got together, Rich told how they had bumped into each other on numerous occasions, which led to them becoming closer.

He told Craig: ‘We’re all in the same vicinity, we’re all in the same circles, and, you know, we’re hanging and whatnot.

‘We just used to always see each other, laugh and joke. It was just cordial, really, just cordial.’

The entrepreneur then joked that things between them remained cordial ‘until it became not so cordial’, before he eventually became a ‘person of interest’ for the iconic British singer.

During the chat, Rich also admitted that he wasn’t an active listener of Adele’s music, although he ‘can’t help but to hear the monster hits’.

He said of his partner, who has sold over 120 million records worldwide: ‘Obviously, you know, I’m pretty on the pulse of a lot of different things, and so, you know, some of the songs, the big songs, but I didn’t know all of the joints that I know now.’

The couple previously opened up about wanting to expand their blended family and have more children.

Adele is mother to a 14-year-old son named Angelo, whom she shares with her ex-husband Simon Konecki.

As for the sports agent, not much is known about his children (Reonna, Richie and Zane) or their mother, but he previously opened up about becoming a father at a young age when his daughter was born.

‘As a young dad, growing a business, it was pretty tough,’ he told E! News. ‘But now looking as an older dad and my kids being much older, and obviously, if I was to have more kids… I’m looking forward to being a different dad, a more patient dad.’

Adele has also opened up about wanting to have more children with Rich.

During one of her shows, she made a candid confession, telling her fans in the audience: ‘I really want to be a mum again soon, so every time I see a name I like, I write it down in my phone.’

She shared two particular names she liked, Parker and Spencer, before adding, ‘I can’t say Parker because Rich likes that name.’

She later added: ‘You know what else, I like Ray for [a girl] spelt like a boy’s name.’
