New Manchester United hero Antony celebrates for the cameras after his debut goal

Antony was photographed strolling back to his Manchester hotel on Sunday evening having been out to enjoy a celebratory dinner with friends.

The Brazilian, who joined the club from Ajax last week in a deal worth £85.5m, scored on his debut as United extended their winning run in the league to four games with victory over leaders Arsenal

Clearly having enjoyed his first taste of life as a United player in front of a raucous Old Trafford, Antony was snapped returning from dinner at the Hawksmoor steakhouse in Manchester.

Having just arrived at the club, Antony is currently staying at The Lowry hotel, infamous for being Jose Mourinho’s residence during his stint as United boss.

Strolling the streets of his new city, Antony was alongside five friends who all looked equally delighted following the day’s enjoyable events.

The new United hero was still donning his club tracksuit as a photographer got a shot of him smiling and clenching his fists for the camera.

Antony’s delight at having joined the club was obvious through the quotes released by United last week with the Brazilian having revealed just how desperate he and his family were for him to come to England.

However, United fans were treated to a display of skill and unconditional passion as their new Brazilian hero scored within 35 minutes of his debut for the club.

‘You can see all of his potential,’ Ten Hag said of Antony after the game.

‘He will be a threat in the Premier League. We were missing a player on the right wing. [Jadon] Sancho and [Marcus] Rashford can play there but they prefer the left so now we have the missing link who can play well on the right,’ he added.

‘We needed that on the right wing with his pace and dribbles and expression. It (the Premier League) is going be a challenge for him but we saw his potential. We have to keep pushing. I set high standards every day. Everyone has to bring it every day to Carrington.’

United fans appear to have already fallen in love with their new Brazilian who worked tirelessly

Despite having been dominated for much of the opening period, United struck Arsenal on the break with Antony already having appeared to have developed a rapport with fellow attackers Rashford, Bruno Fernandes and Sancho.

Arsenal arrived at Old Trafford on the back of five successive wins, the only side to have started the league season in perfect form. Their dominance, however, did not pay off as they were hit on the break three times.

Despite Bukayo Saka equalising midway through the second half, United found a way to victory through the speed of Rashford and the incisiveness of United’s attacking midfield players.

The result means United have won their last four, climbing to fifth in the league table after a diabolical start that saw them lose at home to Brighton before a comprehensive 4-0 defeat at Brentford.

They travel to Crystal Palace on Sunday after their Europa League campaign gets underway this week at home to Real Sociedad.

His goal on 35 minutes was well-taken and gave United a lead against the league leaders
