‘My boyfriend loves plus-size women – he camped out for a year to find me’

A woman admitted her boyfriend adores plus-size women – as he camped out in the same park for a year to try and bag a date with her.

Kelsey and Ben met thanks to the power of online dating app WooPlus, but it took 12 months for them to strike up a conversation.

Ben regularly goes camping in a park that is close to Kelsey and, one time, he accidentally found her profile when he was in the park and got strongly attracted to her, but couldn’t match with her since she deleted the app at the time.

From the time he first saw herm he knew she was the one, so when Ben went camping in that park, he opened WooPlus to search for Kelsey’s profile.

He did this for a whole year until he managed to find her and, even though cupid took his time, love finally managed to strike.

She said her partner, Ben, was always attracted to plus-size women

Kelsey is a devoted listener of the Swipe Fat Podcast and, in one episode, the hosts Nicci and Alex mentioned they wanted to upgrade to premium on WooPlus to see what would happen.

She decided to do the same, and this led her to finally matching with Ben.

Speaking during an episode of Swipe Fat x WooPlus, Kelsey said: “He has always had a preference for plus-size women.

“I use other apps when there’s a specific kind of person I want to find, and might as well go right to the source.”

WooPlus is catered to this, and it had the specific woman Ben wanted to see.

Although Kelsey thinks WooPlus has some things to work on, like recommending long-distance profiles and the lack of users, maybe it’s because of that she and Ben got the chance to meet each other.

She said the app makes you feel like a “big fish in a little pond”.

Kelsey also opened up about the pros and cons of online dating

Speaking about what it was like to find love on WooPlus, Kelsey added: “I got Tinder Premium, and I had an ungodly amount of matches, but nobody to connect with.

“Because it’s not super saturated with so many people, we were able to connect so much easier I think, and I found a lot of healing through this relationship too.

“Finding somebody who loves you for who you are, and not despite of who you are.

“When I’m outside of WooPlus, the fact of me being fat always interjects my mind.

“When I’m rejected, I always blame it on my size.

“But on WooPlus, the fact that I’m plus-size can be removed, and I don’t need to think about it, and I know I’m truly attractive to men on this app.”

Kelsey complained some men would harass her and talk about her specific body parts, but she managed to find the one eventually.

The pair are now happy together, and all that camping out for Ben finally paid off.
