Legendary DJ Steve Wright, who has sadly handed away aged 69, revealed the key to his weight-loss success in a candid interview with the Mail again in 2010.

The BBC DJ’s household launched a press release right this moment telling of their ‘deep sorrow and profound remorse’ at his passing.

Fellow colleagues and celebrities have taken to social media to pay tribute to the legendary broadcaster, who offered Steve Wright within the Afternoon for 12 years on Radio 1 and an additional 23 years on Radio 2. 

After seeing an unflattering image of himself some years in the past, Steve labored tirelessly to shed the kilos — and admitted the key to his success was reducing out crisps and chocolate. 

By weaning himself off treats and exercising every day by occurring walks within the West End of London and in Regent’s Park, Steve was in a position to lose over one-and-a-half stone.

The 56-year-old star, who was 18 stone at his heaviest, revealed: ‘I’ve been consuming healthily and I’ve misplaced about one-and-a-half stone. But I need to lose one other stone-and-a-half not less than…I’m not there but however I’m getting there. I’ve lower out chips, crisps and I now not eat chocolate.’ 

Meanwhile, those that knew the star paid tribute to him right this moment. Sara Cox choked again tears as she paid tribute to the legendary broadcaster following information of his loss of life.

She stated: ‘We are all completely devestated, shocked and blindsided by this information.

‘Steve was a rare broadcaster, a very actually sort individual. He was witty, he was heat and he was an enormous large a part of the Radio 2 household and I do know my fellow DJs will all be shattered too and I think about you’re feeling unhappy too and we’re right here on your messages.’

The DJ offered the favored Sunday Love Songs weekend mid-morning present on Radio 2. His final present was a pre-recorded Valentine’s Day version of the programme.

‘We’ve all misplaced a beautiful buddy who has been a giant a part of our lives for therefore a few years,’ Sara added.
