Jadon Sancho’s switch worth has plummeted since £73m Man Utd transfer

Jadon Sancho‘s transfer value has massively shrunk since his £73million move to Manchester United.

The 24-year-old secured the big money move to the Premier League giants in 2021 after four years with Borussia Dortmund where he scored 50 goals and contributed 64 assists in 137 games.

His time in Manchester hasn’t yet gone as planned as the England international failed to live up to expectations in his first two seasons, scoring just 12 goals in 79 games while failing to hold down a regular spot in the starting eleven.

His third season began with cameo appearances in United’s first three league games before having a public fall-out with United boss Erik ten Hag after the Dutchman claimed the reason for Sancho’s omission from their squad against Arsenal was due to him not reaching the levels required in training.

The Englishman took to social media to hit back at his manager and was subsequently exiled from all first-team activities after refusing to apologise to Ten Hag.

Sancho’s fall from grace resulted in his £73m market value shrinking to a mere £21m after failing to reach expectations in the Premier League.

Still just 24 years old, the winger has shown signs of getting back to his best during his loan spell at Borussia Dortmund where he drew mass praise for his performance against PSG in the Champions League semi-final first leg on Wednesday (May 1) night, which the Bundesliga side won 1-0.

Sancho became the first English player to produce more than 11 take-ons in a single match in Europe’s premier competition as he spoke of his delight to be back at the club that he originally made his name at during a post-match interview with Peter Schmeichel and Jamie Carragher.

He said: “Obviously I came here at 17 and they gave me the opportunity to play professional football so I’m just delighted with all staff and players that welcome me back.”
