Microsoft outage as Minecraft, Teams and 365 points for 1000’s of customers

Thousands of people across the world have reported outages across the Microsoft 365 network on Thursday.

Some people said that they were not able to used key services like Microsoft Teams, Azure and even the computer game Minecraft. The tech giant has since said that it is working to resolve the outage stopping user from accessing several of its major services.

The number of outages reported in the last two hours has shot up from 1 at 7am to nearly 500 at 10am on Downdetector, which monitors realtime issues and outages.

Microsoft stated in a service alert: “Some users attempting to access other Microsoft 365 services, including but not limited to Microsoft Teams and Exchange Online, may be unable to authenticate and access the services.

“We are sorry, something went wrong. Please try refreshing the page in a few minutes.”

A full statement from the tech company noted that “Users may be unable to access the admin center or leverage Microsoft Entra to access other Microsoft 365 services.

“User impact: Users may be unable to access the admin center or leverage Microsoft Entra to access other Microsoft 365 services.

“Current status: We’re investigating reports of an issue in which users may be unable to access the Microsoft 365 admin center or leverage Microsoft Entra to access other Microsoft 365 services.

“We’re reviewing dependent service pathways to identify our initial investigating actions.

“Scope of impact: Any users attempting to access the Microsoft 365 admin center or leverage Microsoft Entra to access other Microsoft 365 services may be impacted.”

Elsewhere, on the popular computer game Minecraft, which is owned by Microsoft, at least 159 users have reported issues with it as of 10:09am.

The majority (76%) said that they had service problems, while 21% said they and login issues and 3% were experiencing gameplay problems.
