Ricky Hatton’s enormous web value and what members of the family are set to inherit

Ricky Hatton will be laid to rest in Manchester on Friday, almost exactly one month after the boxing legend was found dead in his Hyde home at the age of 46

The boxing community will once again be in mourning as Ricky Hatton is laid to rest in his beloved Manchester on Friday. The private ceremony will occur almost exactly a month after ‘The Pride of Hyde’ was tragically found dead in his home at the tender age of 46.

Hatton’s funeral will be held at Manchester Cathedral, an invite-only event for friends, family and loved ones. However, it’s anticipated that the city streets will be filled with fans wanting to pay their respects to one of Britain’s greatest champions.

With such an indelible legacy comes the rather grim question of what will happen to Hatton’s wealth. The late great was once one of the biggest names in British sport, having won world titles at light-welterweight and welterweight during a dazzling career.

Hatton had a 43-0 undefeated record before facing Floyd Mayweather Jr in 2007. It’s estimated that ‘The Hitman’ received around £5million for his bout against ‘Money’, though he’s thought to have earned roughly double that for his defeat to Manny Pacquiao two years later.

These were just the financial highlights from his 45-3 boxing career, however. Merchandise, sponsors and television appearances also contributed to Hatton’s overall net worth, which was believed to be around £35m at the time of his death.

And Mail Online has revealed that this colossal fortune is anticipated to be carved up amongst his offspring and the remainder of his clan. Nevertheless, the precise breakdown of his eye-watering wealth stays under wraps.

It’s anticipated that the lion’s share of Hatton’s riches will flow to his kids. Hatton fathered one son, Campbell, plus two daughters, Millie and Fearne.

Campbell, 24, is the eldest of the bunch and was born in 2001 to Ricky’s former partner, Claire Lord. Hatton subsequently welcomed daughters Millie, 13, and Fearne, 12, with ex-fiancée Jennifer Dooley.

When Campbell arrived, Ricky established a trust fund bearing his son’s name to guarantee he’d never want for anything. His boy later mirrored his father’s path into boxing but hung up his gloves in 2024 after losing a close friend.

Campbell has since switched careers dramatically and now grafts as a solar panel fitter. He shared a snap of himself with his old man on Instagram this past Monday, marking what would’ve been Ricky’s 47th birthday, penning: “Happy birthday – wish we was spending it together.”

Hatton had also become a granddad when Campbell welcomed daughter Lyla in 2018. The Hitman recently posted a photo of himself with his granddaughter, calling himself “Grandad Richard,” and one can only assume little Lyla will also bag a slice of her grandfather’s legacy.

Despite not going through with his engagement to Dooley, Hatton maintained a close relationship with her daughters, who often appeared on his social media. The trio were regularly spotted holidaying and socialising together, including jaunts to one of Hatton’s preferred holiday spots in Tenerife.

Friday’s funeral procession will pay tribute to the life of a contemporary boxing legend, starting in Hatton’s hometown of Hyde. It will then journey through the city to Manchester Cathedral before arriving at the Etihad Stadium, the home ground of Manchester City.
