Aryna Sabalenka has hit back at critics with a hot bikini pic after she was accused of having “high testosterone”.
The Belarusian star traded Europe’s autumnal colours for the Middle East’s heat as she let her hair down between competitions. Sharing snaps on social media, Sabalenka showed off her toned abs with the caption: “Much needed girl’s day with my bestie!”
Sabalenka wasn’t alone in the Middle East, and she had been enjoying some down time with Paula Badosa – wearing a yellow bikini, the close pals posted videos on social media.
They also tucked into some Greek food, dinning at the Atlantis The Royal Hotel’s Greek restaurant Milos, famous for its fresh fish.
The pair have close ties to Greek culture – Sabalenka frequently visits the country alongside her Greek-Brazilian boyfriend Georgios Frangulis.
While Badosa was once an item with Greece’s men’s No.1 player Stefanos Tsitsipas.
Sabalenka, who is a powerhouse on the court, is no stranger to teasing fans on social media – and one snap had fans begging to be her ball boy in the comments section.
However, their holiday comes amid Marta Kostyuk’s bombshell interview. The World no.27 suggested that the top two stars in women’s tennis are at a “biological” advantage because they are “much bigger” and “much stronger”.
She said: “With Aryna, I know it is a tough battle. I have my own skills, but at the end of the day, they are all much bigger than me, much taller than me, much stronger than me.
“We all have our own biological structure. Some have a higher level of testosterone.”
There is no basis nor evidence for Kostyuk’s claims. The Ukrainian stark, who has a career-high ranking of world No. 16, moaned: “I cannot make myself 10kgs bigger or five centimetres taller, so I have to use everything I had at 100%.
“For other players, they have more of an advantage in other things. This is just the way I am.”
