Prison guard who ‘appreciated intercourse with lag’ gushes ‘I’m proud’ after he raps for her
Isabelle Dale allegedly had a sexual relationship wth HMP Coldingley inmate Shahid Sharif – who was jailed there for his part in the sickening robbery of a jeweller’s shop
A prison officer accused of romping with a convicted robber swooned over him during a phone call – after he performed a rap for her – a court heard.
Isabelle Dale, 23, was charmed after 33 year old Shahid Sharif serenaded her over the phone, jurors were told yesterday.
They heard recordings of the chat, during which Dale gushed to the lag: “I like that one baby…I’m so proud of you. My favourite one (rap) you’ve ever done…is the first one you ever sent me.”
Sharif had performed: “Post-traumatic stress disorder, another security thinks I’m out of order” during the call, a conversation alleged to have taken place during the pair’s supposed affair at HMP Coldingley near Woking, Surrey.
Sharif was three years into the 12-year stretch he received for his role in a brutal robbery of a jeweller’s shop, during which timepieces and gems worth £620,000 were snatched, reports the Mirror.
Southwark Crown Court heard yesterday how two prisoners stood guard as Dale allegedly had sex with Sharif in a prayer room at the jail. Dale emerged with him four minutes later appearing to “re-adjust her belt area,” the jury was told.
Sharif enlisted Dale to help him smuggle envelopes soaked with the drug spice into his new prison, jurors heard. Dale allegedly ran Sharif’s drug-dealing Snapchat account to obtain the synthetic cannabis through 27 year old Lilea Sallis.
When Dale was nicked, police discovered drug-smuggling kit in the boot of her car. Officers also uncovered an engagement ring which Dale claimed had been purchased by Sharif, along with a “framed canvas” of the pair displayed above her bed, the court was told.
Additional phone conversations, presented to the jury, featured discussions about hot chocolate. During the exchange, Dale explained: “I put like a little bit of milk in there to make it a little bit nicer…I microwave the milk.”
During one moment, Sharif revealed to Dale: “This is my 27th prison in three and-a half years.”
Victoria Mital, the group safety lead at HMP Coldingley, informed the court that she had been tasked with handling a grievance from Dale concerning two fellow prison officers. Dale alleged she was being monitored and harassed due to her looks.
Kieran Brand, prosecuting, questioned Ms Mital: “She perceived that there was bullying against her. She believed that was due to her age sex and appearance.” Ms Mital confirmed: “Yes.”
She explained that Dale, who hails from Portsmouth, Hampshire, became distressed when another colleague was assigned to handle a package connected to Sharif.
“She stated that she was asked to deal with the property. She was then told that she wouldn’t be dealing with the property, that it would be done by someone else. She felt that that was her being targeted.”
Ms Mital revealed that she chose not to interview the two officers whom Dale had accused.
“The information I had and the evidence I had led me to conclude that there was nothing to be gained by speaking to them. They would refute the allegations.”
Dale is contesting two counts of misconduct in a public office and conspiracy to convey a “List A” prohibited article into prison.
Sallis, from East Sussex, is also denying the charge of conspiracy to convey a “List A” prohibited article into prison. Sharif has previously confessed to conspiring with the two women and others unknown to smuggle drugs into prison.
The trial is ongoing.
