Man appears to be like inside £275 creation calendar to see if objects behind doorways are value it
A man spent a whopping £275 on a Christmas advent calendar to see if it’s actually worth splurging more on a festive countdown – and then delivered his final verdict
How much would you pay for an advent calendar? While some stick to £3 chocolate countdowns, others like to opt for something more luxurious. One man decided to do the latter – splurging £275 to see if it would actually be worth it.
Carmie Sellitto, 26, filmed himself opening the bank-busting calendar in a TikTok video. And judging by his reaction, he wasn’t very impressed by the contents that were inside. Gobsmacked by the hefty price tag, he admitted: “I can’t believe I spent £275 on this.”
The Londoner began by opening a reindeer Christmas ornament, followed by a packet of gingerbread men, loose-leaf tea, hand soap, a candle, a giant gold coin, coffee, mulling spices, and chocolate sardines.
By day 10, the ante is upped with a tin of caviar, which at least feels slightly boujie! Carmie added: “Now we’re talking. This must cost at least £100.”
He goes on to open the other windows, finding hot chocolate flakes, lemon curd, and a tablecloth he describes as “looking like something he made in primary school”.
Next up are rose wine bunnies, a tea towel, another Christmas ornament, truffle nuts, a dog treat, a mini Christmas cake, cranberry sauce, a small bottle of gin, hand balm, and chocolate chillies.
Then for the grand reveal behind door 25? Carmie found a bottle of Negroni, which would definitely be fun to toast with on Christmas Day.
Even though he praised the high quality items behind the doors, Carmie doesn’t think the company was justified for charging so much for the fancy advent calendar.
Sharing his brutally honest thoughts, he said: “Overall, I don’t think it was anywhere near worth £275.”
