BREAKING Reading College horror ‘stabbing’ as two boys launched by police after being charged

Two teens have been released by police after being charged in connection to a “stabbing at Reading College that left a boy injured and in hospital last week.

The boys from Reading, one 16-year-old and the other a 17, cannot be named for legal reasons and have been released on police bail after being charged.

The 17-year-old has been charged with one count each of Section 18 wounding with intent and possession of a bladed article on school/further education premises, while the 16-year-old boy has been charged with assault by beating.

Thames Valley Police said in a statement: “Following a Thames Valley Police investigation, two teenagers, who cannot be named for legal reasons, have been charged in connection with an assault in Reading.

“A 17-year-old boy from Reading has been charged with one count each of Section 18 wounding with intent and possession of a bladed article on school/further education premises. A 16-year-old boy, also from Reading, has been charged with assault by beating.

“The charges relate to an incident that occurred at around 2.20pm on Thursday (6/11) on Kings Road, Reading. The victim, who is in his late teens, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and has since been discharged from hospital.

“Both boys appeared at Reading Magistrates’ Court today (8/11) and were released on conditional court bail. As criminal proceedings are active, please avoid any reporting, commentary or online sharing that could prejudice the defendants’ right to a fair trial.”
