Fake child scammer Kira Cousins grins at studio as she’s provided ‘loopy cash’ for documentary

Kira Cousins, the infamous fake baby scammer, has been spotted in a documentary maker’s office, despite recently denying she would be participating in a programme about her shocking deception.

The 22-year-old from Airdrie fooled friends and family into believing she had given birth to a daughter named Bonnie-Leigh Joyce, after wearing a prosthetic baby bump for several months.

She used a lifelike Reborn doll to maintain the illusion of having a newborn, until her mother discovered the doll in her bedroom, revealing the truth to those closest to her. Last week, it was reported that Kira’s elaborate hoax was being turned into a documentary by Soho Studios Entertainment and Glasgow-based Two Rivers Media.

However, during a recent holiday in Gran Canaria, Kira seemed to refute these claims. She took to social media to assert that she would not be involved in any such documentary, reports the Daily Record.

In an Instagram Story posted from the Spanish island, Kira stated: “To set the record straight, I will not be doing a documentary. I just want this to be over and for everyone I’ve hurt to have a good life. Been offered crazy money, but I will not be doing it. 100% not”.

On her final day abroad before heading back to Scotland, Kira reiterated: “No, there’s no documentary and I’ve never spoken to any media. They are in my direct messages asking for interviews, but I’m not interested. More to follow.”

In the most recent twist to this unfolding drama, Kira has shared a photograph of herself positioned within the offices of one of the production firms, expressing her eagerness to reveal her perspective on the deception.

Posting on Instagram on Sunday evening, Kira revealed: “I can confirm that I have decided that I do want to tell my story in my words and I have signed with the reported production companies to make that happen.

“At the moment I can’t post further details on the documentary, but will post updates when I can. It’s the only way to get everything out.”

Whilst a broadcasting home for the documentary remains undetermined, both companies are preparing to engage with various platforms and networks regarding the project.

Alan Clements, Managing Director and Executive Producer at Two Rivers Media, commented: “It is very early days in the process, but public speculation about the team behind the documentary has prompted us to step forward now.

“Once we have a platform as a partner, filming will start. We are delighted that with the huge international interest around this story, Kira chose us.

“Both Two Rivers and Soho Studios pride ourselves on bringing remarkable human experiences, told by the people who were at the centre of the action, to the screen.

“We look forward to treating those involved, the issues and this story with the sensitivity they deserve.”
