Millions of Brits ‘dream about being friends with dreamboat David Beckham’ at evening
In a study of 2,000 adults – seven in ten Brits have regular vivid dreams and turning up naked in public, being late for an important meeting and partners’ cheating all made the list of common night visions
David Beckham is officially a dreamboat after millions said they dreamt of being his pal in the land of nod.
Some 20% admitted they regularly had visions of being friends with a star whilst they slumbered, according to new findings. The heartthrob former footballer, who was recently knighted to Sir David, came third on the list with 8% of the vote.
He lost out to popstar Beyonce who topped the poll, followed by fellow singer Taylor Swift. Kate Middleton was the most popular royal in dreamland, beating her husband Prince William and her father-in-law King Charles who came seventh.
And some also admitted to envisaging being mates with cake queen Mary Berry.
The top ten was rounded off with This Morning hosts Dermot O Leary and Alison Hammond.
The study was commissioned to mark the launch of Netflix adventure film, In Your Dreams.
Dream expert Dr Delphi said: “If we can relate to a particular celebrity’s struggle, or if we see someone in the spotlight as a role model, or if we admire them, it is common for us to dream about them as if they are closer to us than they really are.”
The study of 2,000 adults found that seven in ten Brits (71%) have regular vivid dreams.
Turning up naked in public (12%), being late for an important meeting (15%) and partners’ cheating (22%) all made the list of common night visions.
But the number one dream gripping the nation was revealed as the terrible feeling of falling, experienced often, by a staggering 53% of Brits, according to the study.
When it comes to who we dream about most, our other half (31%) came top – followed by a parent (27%) or an ex (17%).
