Inside the $14,000 cruise cabin that is the CHEAPEST on a luxurious ship
Sailing around the world and stopping off at different destinations on a large, luxurious vessel can offer amazing opportunities – but will come with a high price tag.
On Silversea’s Silver Ray, the cheapest cabin came to be around $14,000 (£10,676) for one traveller and his mother.
The vessel boasts ‘breathtaking 270-degree vistas at every turn’ and is described as an ‘icon of innovation’ by Silversea.
It has expansive decks to stroll on and enjoy the views, as well as plenty of windows to show off the surroundings as it travels.
The company sells it as a ‘guiding light for the future of luxury travel’ and it’s easy to see why.
Business Insider’s David Morris booked the cheapest room on the ship with his mother and paid $7,050 (£5,356) per person.
Included in the price was a personal butler, unlimited caviar, dining, drinks and gratuities.
They stayed in the entry-level cabin for an eight-night trip from Barcelona to Monte Carlo back in July.

Despite it being the lowest priced room in the ship, David revealed ‘it didn’t feel cheap at all’.
‘Our entry-level veranda suite felt spacious with a queen-size bed, a small living area with a couch, and a desk,’ he shared.
‘The suite had tons of storage, including a large walk-in closet with a chest of drawers and plenty of space for hanging clothes.’
Aside from the decor and overall feel of the room, the experience itself proved to be luxurious too, with the butler even helping the pair to pack and unpack.
The bathroom also proved to be quite large and equipped with toiletries.
Silver Ray holds 728 passengers and is one of the most spacious in Silversea’s fleet of ships.
It’s designed horizontally instead of vertically, which allows passengers to enjoy higher ceilings and more room.

The ship has 364 suites and 13 different categories to choose from.
The Otium Suites are described as ‘the crown jewel’ by Silversea that boast ‘walls of windows’.
At 1,324 square feet, the suites have plenty of space for passengers to relax including a large living room.
The entire ship is beautifully decorated from top to bottom and guests can enjoy more than 1,700 pieces of art.
