Trump’s in grandpa mode! President catches soccer with doting grandson Theodore, 9, at White House
President Trump has been undertaking grandpa duties in a wholesome scene at the White House this weekend, with video showing him playing catch with his nine-year-old grandson.
Donald Trump, 79, and his grandson, Theodore Kushner, were pictured together in the White House Presidential Walk of Fame throwing an NFL football back and forth.
Both the president and his grandson were kitted out in full suits as they shared the heartwarming moment in the historic halls.
First daughter Ivanka Trump, 44, proudly shared the snaps to her Instagram as the president was seen playfully tossing the ball to Theodore, who was showing off his throwing arm.
The pair were videoed walking down the Presidential Walk of Fame, as grandfather Trump pointed at some of the pictured historical figures that line the hall.
Theodore listened attentively before closely following his grandfather around the corner.
Theodore is the third and youngest child of Ivanka and her husband Jared Kushner. The pair married in 2009 before the birth of their eldest daughter Arabella, 14, and then their first son and second child, 11-year-old Joseph.
All three of Ivanka’s children recently walked onto the pitch with soccer star Lionel Messi in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on November 9, as the family watched Inter Miami thrash Nashville SC 4-0 in the MLS playoffs.

The president and his grandson’s heartwarming moment captured the attention of social media, as one user said it would be one of ‘these memories he will never forget.’
‘Love how real we get to see him through his family life,’ one user commented.
‘Despite his busy schedule, he always makes time for his grandchildren. Best president,’ another wrote.
It isn’t Theodore’s first time practicing his throwing skills on the White House grounds.
In April, Philadelphia Eagles star Saquon Barkley shared a memorable moment with the Trump heir.
The pair were seen tossing a football on the grounds following the Eagles victory at the 2025 Superbowl – which the Trump family, including Theodore, attended.
The youngster was said to have stolen the show at the Superbowl earlier this year after appearing nervous and protective of his grandfather, with some fans on X saying he was ‘like the president’s bodyguard.’
Ivanka shared a video of the special moment of the her son and the NFL star before Theodore challenged Barkley to a race.

The talented nine-year-old, who has a passion for football, celebrated his eighth birthday with a football helmet cake in March of last year.
Ivanka and Jared posed with Theodore, who was sporting a football jersey for the Miami Dolphins, beside a football balloon and the impressive birthday cake.

Theodore and Trump’s close relationship warmed hearts in April after Ivanka shared a video of the young Trump performing a composition on the White House piano for his grandfather.
‘Theo debuting his first original composition for Grandpa last night at the White House,’ Ivanka wrote alongside the video.
Theodore was seen sporting a white suit and had been pictured earlier with a football held at his side.
