- 3I/ATLAS is a newly discovered interstellar comet, the third one ever detected, that is passing through our solar system
- Experts claim that it is an active comet, consisting of a solid icy nucleus and a gas-and-dust cloud called a coma, which is formed as the Sun heats the nucleus.
- Theoretical physicist Avi Loeb has been leading speculation that the so-called 3I/ATLAS comet is actually a “spaceship”.
- His suggestion that humanity is not alone in the universe caused such a stir that NASA held a press conference to address the rumours
- He now claims that “if the rare coincidence between the perijove distance (minimum distance between an orbiting body and the planet Jupiter) of 3I/ATLAS and the Hill radius will materialize (on a journey to Jupiter), it might flag a technological signature.”
- The comet/spaceship will hit Jupiter sometime around March, and could show signs of alien tech at that point.
