Ex-Obama Aide Eviscerates Susie Wiles’ Plan For Trump In 2026 Midterms

Democratic strategist Ameshia Cross cast serious doubt on Susie Wiles’ plan to trot out President Donald Trump as if he were on the ballot for the 2026 midterms. (Watch the video below.)

Trump, of course, is not up for election, but Wiles, his chief of staff, said recently the president could rally “low-propensity voters.” The GOP has suffered several election setbacks recently in Virginia, New Jersey, Georgia, Florida and elsewhere, prompting concern in the party.

Wiles claimed she’ll have the president campaign like it’s 2024, saying:

“Typically, in the midterms, it’s not about who’s sitting at the White House. You localize the election, and you keep the federal officials out of it. We’re actually gonna turn that on its head and put him on the ballot because so many of those low-propensity voters are Trump voters.”

Cross, who worked in communications for former President Barack Obama, dismissed the strategy for a few reasons Sunday on MS Now.

“I don’t think Donald Trump is physically able to campaign like it’s 2024 again, but all that withstanding, he also has something now that he didn’t have against him in 2024,” Cross said. “He is now holding the bag for the disaster of people’s pocketbooks, for the massive unemployment that we’re seeing, for the underemployment, for the people lacking affordability.”

Cross continued her skepticism over Trump vigorously hitting the campaign trail.

“Putting him out on the campaign trail when he’s saying specifically that affordability is a hoax is probably not the best thing to do,” she said.

And those places where his salesmanship might help now are “few and far between at this point,” according to Cross.

Trump has tried to convince Americans that prices are coming down, but Americans aren’t buying it, according to a recent poll.
