Manchester horror home hearth replace as mum charged with homicide after lady, 4, dies

A woman has been charged with murder following the death of a four-year-old girl after a house fire in Rusholme, Manchester.

Greater Manchester Police (GMP) has confirmed this evening (January 6) that mum Carrin Wibier, of Gateshead Close, Manchester, has been charged with murder and arson with intent to endanger life.

The 45-year-old has been remanded in custody before an appearance at Manchester Magistrates Court tomorrow (January 7).

Her daughter Lesma-Rose Wibier was rushed out from the fire at the property on Gateshead Close back in Match 2 in 2025.

However, Lesma-Rose tragically died in hospital a short time later.

A GMP spokesperson said: “The charge relates to the death of four-year-old girl Lesma-Rose Wibier at a house on Gateshead Close on Sunday 2 March 2025.”

Lesma-Rose was called “the most beautiful girl inside and out” in tributes following her death.

Paying tribute after her tragic passing, the girl’s family said: “Lesma-Rose was the star of the family.

“Anyone who knew her knew she was the most beautiful girl inside and out.

“She always had a smile on her face and could put the same on others.

“She was such a smart and intelligent girl in her own unique ways, and she will be deeply missed by anyone who was blessed to meet her.”
