Golden Globes anti-Trump blast in full as Mark Ruffalo hits out over ICE killing
Actor Mark Ruffalo spoke frankly about the killing of mum Renee Good who was shot dead by an ICE immigration officer, calling the controversial incident a “murder”
Actors taking to the Golden Globes red carpet lashed out at the “worst human being” Donald Trump and ICE immigration officers over the killing of a mum-of-three in Minnesota.
Marvel movies actor Mark Ruffalo led the charge against the Republican president during the star-studded event in Los Angeles on Sunday. He and actress Wanda Sykes were seen wearing pins that said “ICE out” and “be good.”
The pins reference the killing of mum Renee Good who was fatally shot by an ICE officer in controversial circumstances that have laid bare America’s divisions. In multiple clips of the shooting, Renee could be seen advancing her car from a parked position in the general direction of an ICE officer.
The ICE officer then fired three shots, killing Renee, who was behind the wheel, and proceeded to call her a f****** b**** in the aftermath. The US government has claimed the officer feared for his life, though it is unclear whether he actually did and if he had been put in a life-threatening position as Renee appeared to be steering away from him.

“This is for Renee Nicole Good, who was murdered,” Ruffalo told USA Today before referencing Trump’s court cases. “We’re in the middle of a war with Venezuela that we illegally invaded.
“He’s telling the world that international law doesn’t matter to him. The only thing that matters to him is his own morality, but the guy is a convicted felon; a convicted rapist.”
Trump was found liable in 2023 over the sexual abuse of writer E Jean Carroll, one of 27 women who accused him of sexual misconduct. Ruffalo then branded Trump the “worst human being.”
“If we’re relying on this guy’s morality for the most powerful country in the world, then we’re all in a lot of trouble,” he added. “This is for the people in the United States who are terrorized and scared today. I know I’m one of them. I love this country. And what I’m seeing here happening is not America.”
Comedian Sykes also hit out at the Trump administration, adding in an interview with Variety: “We need to speak up and shut this rogue government down. It’s awful what they are doing to people.”
While conservative commentators were quick to voice their outrage over Ruffalo’s comments, there were many who praised him. One X/Twitter user said in a post seen 2.5million times that the actor “stands on the right side of history.”
“Mark, thank you for saying what most of the world are also screaming,” the account added.
