Interviewer’s awkward ‘intercourse’ blunder with tennis star on stay TV will get cheeky reply
Anything can happen on live television, as one stunned tennis interviewer found out the hard way when she stumbled over her words in amusing fashion
USA tennis star Sebastian Korda had no idea where to look when a court-side reporter said “you’ve had sex” instead of “you’ve had success” in an interview.
On the weekend, Korda, 25, secured his place in the Delray Beach final, carrying on a recent strong spell of form. The world No.40 dispatched third seed Flavio Cobolli in the semi-finals, claiming a tight opening set before dominating proceedings to seal a 7-6(1) 6-1 triumph.
Korda now boasts a flawless 3-0 record against the Italian, having previously defeated him in the 2024 Washington Open final and at the Italian Open earlier that year. The American was quizzed about his excellent record against Cobolli, but the interview, which was being broadcast on live TV, took an unexpectedly X-rated turn.

Tennis reporter Michelle Yu addressed Korda in front of the centre court audience in Delray Beach and endured a rather unfortunate and lewd verbal stumble.
“You’ve played Flavio three times and you’ve had sex – success against him all three times,” she said, instantly realising what she had just said. In an attempt to recover the interview, her composure and most likely her dignity, she tried to carry on as if it did not happen.
“Why is it that you have had such success against him?” she continued, through the giggles, prompting an equally amused Korda to say: “He’s a good-looking guy, so, you know!”

The former No. 15 faced another recognisable opponent in the final, Tommy Paul. The 25-year-old overcame the No. 5 seed 6-4 6-3 to claim his third tour-level trophy, and his first since the 2024 Washington Open. It’s been a challenging few months for Korda, who was left on crutches when he withdrew from the 2025 French Open.
He also pulled out injured at his home Grand Slam, the US Open, last summer, and has since battled to recapture his finest tennis. However, Korda has been on fire in recent weeks, finishing runner-up at the San Diego Challenger before reaching the Dallas quarter-finals, and now being crowned the Delray Beach Open champion.
Later in the interview, he added: “[It means] a lot. I’ve been through some stuff the past couple of months, years. I’ve lost a lot of finals and now to get one here in Delray – this is where I made my first ATP final – so it’s like a full-circle day. I’m just happy,” he said after lifting his third title.
“It was tricky. We were both struggling out there, it was super windy. I was just trying to put the ball in the court. I was born and raised in Florida, so I’m used to the wind a little bit, but this was extreme for sure.”
The world No. 40 recently brought retired ATP star, Ryan Harrison, into his coaching setup – and they’ve enjoyed immediate success. Harrison is also a successful pundit and commentator, and often works for Sky Sports in the UK.
Korda said: “Every day is just such good energy. He couldn’t care less if I’m playing good or bad, just a good attitude, that’s what he’s asked for. He’s going to be positive out there, I’ll try to do everything I can to be positive.”
