Chris Baghsarian: Human stays present in seek for grandad ‘mistakenly kidnapped’
Police have been searching for the 85-year-old, who went missing from his Sydney home in the dead of night, since February 13 when he was smuggled into an SUV by masked figures
Detectives have found what is believed to be human remains in the search for a missing elderly man.
Police said they had received a report just after 5am on Friday, February 13 that Chris Baghsarian, 85, was kidnapped from his home in North Ryde, a suburb of Sydney, Australia.
Police determined that the frail grandfather was not the intended target of the kidnapping and had been taken in a case of mistaken identity.

Mr Baghsarian, who lived alone, was taken home by a gang of masked attackers in the dead of night.
CCTV footage captured an SUV outside Mr Baghsarian’s home. Two hooded figures approached the house and reappeared with someone seen to struggling in their arms arms. The person is then pushed into the SUV.
A burnt-out vehicle matching the description of the getaway car was found in the nearby suburb shortly afterwards.
Mr Baghsarian was wearing grey pyjamas and a red and blue flannelette shirt when he was kidnapped. police said.
At about 8am on Tuesday, February 24, and following extensive inquiries, detectives said they had located what is believed to be human remains near a golf club in Pitt Town, about 60 kilometres north-west of Sydney.
New South Wales Police said investigations are ongoing.
