Keir Starmer informed to ‘stand down now’ as US seen loading lethal missiles at UK airbase

Keir Starmer has been told to “stand down now” just hours before US military was seen loading deadly missiles onto planes at UK airbases. The Prime Minister was pictured looking grim-faced outside 10 Downing Street, clutching a stack of files as the walls appear to close in on his premiership.
The dual crises – a devastating political scandal involving disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein and the escalation of a major Middle Eastern conflict from British soil – have pushed Starmer’s government to the brink.
The political firestorm ignited following the release of explosive government documents regarding Starmer’s appointment of Labour grandee Peter Mandelson as the US Ambassador. The files confirm that Starmer was explicitly warned by the national security adviser about the severe “reputational risk” posed by Mandelson’s close, long-term friendship with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
Despite the glaring red flags – including a December 2024 “due diligence” report noting that Mandelson stayed at Epstein’s home even after the billionaire’s 2008 conviction for procuring an underage girl – Starmer pushed the appointment through.
Mandelson was ultimately sacked nine months later when the full depth of the relationship leaked to the public, eventually walking away with a highly controversial £75,000 taxpayer-funded severance payout.
The revelations have united politicians from both the left and right in outrage. Reform UK declared that Starmer “lied” and “must resign,” while Scottish Greens co-leader Gillian Mackay stated that the Prime Minister “oversaw the government that authorised this pay-out… he should do the honourable thing and resign.”
The SNP’s Westminster leader Stephen Flynn echoed the sentiment, asserting that the Prime Minister’s decision to prioritize politics over Epstein’s victims is a “stain on this UK Labour Government” that will “rightly haunt his last days in Downing Street.”
As Starmer faces intense pressure to resign in Westminster, dramatic scenes are unfolding at RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire. Newly captured images show US Air Force ground crews working under the cover of dusk, using heavy machinery to hoist massive conventional bombs and deadly standoff missiles into the bays of B-52 Stratofortress bombers.
The heavy munitions, transported on flatbeds clearly marked with bright orange “Explosives 1.1” hazard placards, represent a major escalation in the ongoing US-led military campaign against Iran, dubbed “Operation Epic Fury.”
Following initial hesitation that drew sharp public rebukes from US President Donald Trump, Starmer recently bowed to pressure and granted the US permission to launch heavy bombing strikes against Iranian missile sites from British bases.
The arrival of the B-52s this week, joining a fleet of B-1B Lancer bombers already operating from the base, transforms the UK into a direct launching pad for devastating bombing runs in the Middle East.
The pressure on Starmer shows no signs of stopping, with the eyes of the world on the UK bases Trump is using.
