Harry Redknapp’s spectacular web value as his horse runs in Gold Cup at Cheltenham Festival
Premier League icon Harry Redknapp is hoping for more success on the racecourse as his star chaser The Jukebox Man looks to vindicate his favourite tag and win the Gold Cup
Premier League legend Harry Redknapp is back in the headlines with the 79-year-old’s horse The Jukebox Man currently the joint favourite in the market for Friday’s Cheltenham Gold Cup.
The former West Ham and Portsmouth manager is one of English football’s most recognisable personalities. Renowned for his astute transfer market dealings and for steering Spurs into the Champions League. The ex-manager is also famed for his passion for horse racing where he hopes to enjoy more success with The Jukebox Man.
Before establishing himself as a charismatic and business-minded manager, Redknapp had a lengthy playing career with teams such as West Ham and Bournemouth.

However, it’s due to his many years as a top-flight manager and his numerous endorsements since retiring that he has amassed his wealth. Some reports suggest that his final contract with Spurs was worth nearly £3million per year.
Upon accepting the position at QPR, his contract was reportedly valued at approximately £10m. It is believed that Redknapp’s total wealth now reaches £13.4m, according to Celebrity Net Worth.
However, Redknapp is still bettered by two legends of the Premier League in the racing world, with all-conquering Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson and Ballon d’Or winner Michael Owen both earning north of £1million from racing prize money – in Fergie’s case, much higher.
Redknapp has earned £820,000 in prize money, though The Jukebox Man could take that to over £1million if he follows in Shakem Up’Arry’s footsteps and becomes a Cheltenham Festival winner, after triumphing in the Plate Handicap Chase in 2024, in the showpiece race.
Owen, who leads an ever-growing list of Flat horses, has earned £1,238,105 as an owner, while Ferguson is miles clear on a huge £7,860,540.
Ferguson’s famous list of horses includes 2002 European Horse of the Year Rock of Gibraltar, 2024 Ryanair Chase winner Protektorat, dual King George VI Chase winner Clan Des Obeaux, who won over £1m in prize money during his career. Two-time $1m jackpot Bahrain International Trophy winner Spirit Dancer is also one of Fergies.
Meanwhile, third place in Wednesday’s Champions Chase L’Eau Du Sud and last year’s €740,000 purchased Jack Richards Novices’ Limited Handicap Chase winner Caldwell Potter are two current big jumping stars for the Scot. But unfortunately, the latter missed this year’s Festival through injury.
The Jukebox Man is battling with Gaelic Warrior and Jango Baie for the favourite tag for the 4pm Gold Cup race.
