Moment Louis Theroux clashes with HSTikkyTokky over Israel – as  documentary maker’s reply that did not make it into Netflix present is revealed

This is the moment Louis Theroux clashes with social media star Harrison Sullivan over Israel – with the documentary maker’s reply cut from the Netflix show.

The broadcaster, 55, met with Harrison, 24, who is better known as HStikkytokky, as part of his deep dive into the growing amount of misogynistic content which is being shared online.

During the pair’s tense discussions, HStikkytokky asks Louis ‘are Israel committing genocide?’ and while the question appears in the Netflix show, his response did not make the final edit.

However, HStikkytokky was livestreaming the whole exchange, which shows it was actually one of his fans that prompts him to ask Louis about the Gaza genocide.

Initially, Louis hesitates to answer the question, but before allowing him to respond,  the influencer repeatedly tells the documentary maker that he is a ‘puppet’.

‘You are a puppet, you can’t say what you want to say. That is enough said,’ he said. ‘You are a puppet the same way you are for Savile.’

Louis spent three months with Savile for his BAFTA-winning documentary ‘When Louis met… Jimmy’, in which he was criticised for only briefly addressing the widespread rumours that Savile was a paedophile.

After telling Louis that his shows aren’t edited, HStikkytokky says: ‘I am not a puppet, I am not controlled, no one is my daddy. Savile is your daddy, the Jews are your daddy, you know it, I don’t give a f***’.

Louis then responds: ‘The UN is building a case that Israel is committing genocide and there is I think a prima faciefbinding there is strong ground for there being a genocide.

‘There is no question in my opinion that there is ethnic cleansing.

‘Most experts in genocide say there is a genocide.’

In February last year, Louis explored the topic of Israeli settlers in the West Bank, which sparked impartiality fears amid concerns the presenter’s wife has expressed strong views about Israel.

The BBC2 programme, Louis Theroux: The Settlers, saw the documentary maker meet a ‘large and growing ultra-nationalist community’ of Israeli settlers who are based in the area.

The documentary was made by Theroux’s production company Mindhouse, which he co-founded with his wife Nancy Strang and one other person.

Ms Strang was a signatory to a statement by Filmworkers for Palestine, which accuses Israel of ‘genocide’ in Gaza, while she also put her name to a ‘Palestine coalition statement’ condemning police attempts to stop a march protesting at the BBC.

She was named as a signatory on a ‘Letter for Gaza’ in November, 2024, to top BBC bosses, denouncing how broadcasters had covered Gaza and saying it had failed to hold Israel to account.

However, the BBC said that Ms Strang was Strang ‘not involved in this project’, while Louis defended the documentary telling the Guardian, ‘as proud as I am of the film, I know that our documentary could never capture the full impact of what is unfolding in the West Bank’.

Louis also came under criticism  after he conducted a ‘soft’ interview with Bob Vylan following their controversial Glastonbury performance.

The punk band were condemned by the prime minister for urging ‘death’ to Israeli troops during the June gig in what he called ‘appalling hate speech’.

There was a nationwide backlash to the set, which saw lead singer Pascal Robinson-Foster lead the crowd in a chant of ‘death, death to the IDF,’ as well as ‘from the river to the sea’, and used the term ‘f****** Zionists’.

In a podcast interview with Robinson-Foster in Octobter, the singer remained unrepentant telling the interviewer he was ‘not regretful’ and that he would ‘do it again tomorrow’.

Danny Cohen, who was the controller of BBC One from 2010 to 2013, took aim the documentary maker for platforming the controversial star on his podcast, saying he has ‘lost the plot in a very dangerous way’.

He told the Daily Mail: ‘Louis Theroux has chosen to interview a man who made rabidly antisemitic comments on a stage at Glastonbury which was rightly disavowed by the BBC itself as a serious incident of racism.’

In his latest documentary, Louis steps into the world of how prominent male content creators are helping form young men’s ideas about masculinity.

The 55-year-old entered their world and learned how these individuals highlight their views on traditional gender roles and values.

At the beginning of the documentary, Louis remarks how he had noticed ‘parts of the Internet were being taken over’ by male influencers claiming to provide young men with ‘cheat codes to win at life’.

He met Harrison (aka HSTikkyTokky), Myron Gaines, Nicolas Kenn De Balinthazy (aka Sneako), Justin Waller and Ed Matthews.

Louis said what struck him most about Harrison was the interactions he had with his mother before the interview for the documentary took place.

In a clip from the Netflix show, the influencer’s mother suggests he should have a juice to which he curtly replies: ‘I don’t want a juice mum.’

His mother continues: ‘Don’t embarrass me, don’t be rude. That’s not the way I’ve brought you up. Do not be rude because it is a reflection on me.’

The pair then have a heated conversation about something Harrison appears to have spilled on the floor.

His mother takes the towel and says: ‘Look at this. I’m not having them coming here. Get out of the way.’

Later in the documentary, HStikkytokky is seen ranting online after videos of him and Louis went viral on social media during their time filming the Netflix special.

Thousands of viewers had headed to the comments joking that Louis was ‘setting up’ the social media star to ‘look like a clown’ by having him involved in the documentary.

HS was heard fuming: ‘If you want to call me a pimp, a scammer, racist, homophobic d**khead, I’m all of those, I’m all of those, Theroux.’

During their tense time together, the broadcaster pointed out that Harrison criticises female adult perfomers while simultaneously promoting seedy OnlyFans content on his channel. Harrison has previously called Bonne Blue ‘disgusting’.

Louis, however, was quick to point out the similarities between the duo.

He left Harrison angered as he claimed the content creator ‘sounded like Bonnie’ while describing how he feels about promoting extreme or controversial content.

Speaking about the interview, Harrison began: ‘I think she’s absolutely repulsive as a person,’ before admitting he only got her on the live stream for ‘clout’.

Louis then asked: ‘You’ve got 500,000 people on your Telegram, right? And you’re advertising OnlyFans girls on there. Do you think there’s a contradiction there?’

To which Harrison hit back: ‘No, because I openly say I don’t give a f*** and I’m doing it for money. I don’t care about…’

Louis interrupted: ‘The morality of it?’ to which HS added: ‘I know it’s not good. I say to people: “Don’t watch porn”. It’s sad, it’s loser s**t.’

But Louis corrected him: ‘You can’t say I promote it but discourage people from doing it… You say it but it doesn’t mean anything.

‘So you say, “Come down to the gym I’m going to help you work out” and then you just have a box of doughnuts – there’s a box of donuts that I’m holding up to your face… it’s giving very mixed messages.’

HS continued: ‘You do what you choose. If you want to go and eat the doughnuts, eat the donuts, but I own the donut shop.

‘If you wanna come in the gym and pay for the PT or eat the doughnuts, I make dough either way. My kids are going to be very happy, they can do what they want.’

Throughout the documentary, the influencers film Louis for their own social media platforms while putting him through abuse and asking questions they receive from their followers while livestreaming.

In turn, this leads to Louis receiving abusive comments about his previous documentary with the late Jimmy Savile.

He also witnesses homophobic behaviour by HSTikkyTokky- while Myron Gaines speaks in front of his girlfriend about wanting multiple wives in the future.

Regarding his own sons, Louis said that while a parent would ‘hope your influence would outweigh’ online content, he added: ‘They probably spend more hours looking at their phones than they do talking to us and we don’t always know what they’re looking at.’

Reports that Louis was set to ‘front a new Adolescence-inspired documentary for Netflix’ first surfaced in September 2025.

Netflix’s Adolescence, which was created by and starred Stephen Graham, centres on 13-year-old Jamie Miller (Owen Cooper), who is accused of murdering a schoolgirl with Stephen playing the boy’s father.

The scripted series reached 24.3million views in just the first four days of its release – and has been praised for highlighting the online radicalisation of young men and boys.
