GABORIOT (4.50, nap) should have too much class for the field in the EFG Harris Allday Open Hunters’ Chase at Ludlow on Thursday.

The 10-year-old, trained in tandem by Oliver Greenall and Josh Guerriero, started the season with a cracking effort to be second in the Grand Sefton over the National fences but was then pulled up in the Becher Chase.

Switched back to the hunter chase circuit, he fell when going smoothly at Catterick but is expected to put that right here.

The five-year-old, trained by Ruth Carr, won here before being narrowly headed in subsequent runs at Wolverhampton and Southwell.

His latest effort saw him finish third over two and a half miles at Uttoxeter in September and refreshed after 184 days off the track, he can triumph for the first time over timber now returning to a two-mile trip.
