‘Haydock is his type of observe’ – Jason Heavey’s Wednesday ideas
The Craven Meeting continues at Newmarket but the Daily Star tipster fancies a Sean Bowen-ridden chaser in the feature race at Haydock
PUNTERS should be singing the blues at Haydock on Wednesday.
THE BLUESMAN (2.40, nap) gets the vote in the feature contest at the Merseyside track for champion jockey Sean Bowen.
The seven-year-old was a smooth winner over the course and distance in February before posting a respectable effort behind Meetmebythesea at the Cheltenham Festival.
Back at Haydock in the £80,000 Unibet Silver Cup, Olly Murphy’s beast is fancied to regain the winning thread from Outlaw Peter.
Cheltenham heroine WHITE NOISE (2.05) should win the other live ITV4 race at Haydock.
A better price is GRAND GESTE (5.00) who loves the track and can put a poor recent effort behind him in the staying chase while MATTY’S GETAWAY (1.30) and SMOKERINGINTHEDARK (4.25) are other strong fancies.
AMERICA QUEEN (3.35, nb) can reign supreme in the Lanwades Stud Nell Gwyn Stakes on day two of Newmarket’s Craven meeting.
The highlight of four ITV4 races on the Rowley Mile course, the grey filly has the stand-out form after coming second in the Lowther and fourth in the Cheveley Park Stakes as a juvenile.
Richard Hughes says she is the best filly he has trained and she gets the nod over Mubasimah, Inis Mor and Act Of Kindness.
DAMYSUS (3.00) promises to improve as a four-year-old for the Gosdens. He flopped in the Derby but bounced back to win twice and the Betway Earl of Sefton Stakes looks a nice starting point for the son of Frankel.
WAREETH (2.25) bolted up by 14 lengths at Newcastle on his racecourse bow last month and is chucked in at the deep end in the Betway Feilden Stakes.
The form is questionable but his time was good, especially the final two furlongs.
I really like REALIGN (1.50, trb) in the Weatherbys Global Stallions App that kicks off the card.
He won first time out last season and he could do even better as a four-year-old.
When the ITV cameras have stopped rolling, look out for HAVANA LIGHTNING (4.10) on her debut.
The two-year-old is said to have been working well for George Boughey who has booked Will Buick.
AIR FORCE ONE (3.25) looks a stand-out bet at Beverley while THE ANTHONY GOVER (7.00) is expected to step up on a promising debut.
