£28 fan hailed ‘neatest thing to exist’ with ‘cool breeze that feels refreshing’
‘Genuinely brilliant. I have it in the bedroom. It doesn’t blow around warm air, its always cool.’
Air con isn’t a common feature in UK homes, so when the weather warms up, we often find ourselves seeking cost-effective ways to cool down quickly. There are numerous fans on the market, however, one in particular is already a bestseller on Amazon, being labelled the ‘best thing to exist’, thanks to affordability, quiet function and rapid results.
The Amazon fan is one of the more reasonable fans out there, retailing for £27.44 with a slight discount down from £29.44. It boasts three speeds to cool down any room, with a clicker button that controls a 60° oscillation to best circulate air.
Shoppers confirm it doesn’t just blow around warm and stuffy air, ‘it’s always cool’, making it a brilliant option to use while working from home, sleeping or relaxing. People also state the ‘really good fan’ is ‘quiet and smooth even on the highest setting’ so it shouldn’t disturb daily life when on, plus, its sleek tower design isn’t an eye-sore.

Perfect for compact spaces, one customer picked it up to use for their pet, but ended up being so impressed they couldn’t help but benefit from it, too. Their review reads: “Bought this as a cheap fan for the dog during the recent hot weather. Great price for a pretty quiet fan and it looks smart too. The fan worked so well that we are now using it instead of the dog!”
For under £30, the majority of Amazon shoppers find it an excellent option, but there is someone that said: “My only complaint would be the buttons feel a little flimsy and could be better quality.” They did go on to add that the fan ‘looks sleek and modern’.
Those looking for a tower fan with more settings may want to consider the Living and Home fan from Debenhams. It has 10 settings and can be controlled by phone using a clever app. Currently on sale for £89 down from £168, there are two colour options – black and white.
Opting for a fan that cools during summer and heats during winter can be a savvy investment. At Wayfair this Bladeless Hot & Cool Tower Fan is £97.99. This model ranges in temperatures from 15-40°C. It has a natural mode that the brand claim mimics variable outdoor wind conditions.
Amazon’s fan is still the most affordable out of the three, but this doesn’t seem to impact cooling capabilities for customers. One person wrote: “This tower fan is a great addition to any room. It produces a smooth, cool breeze that feels refreshing without being too harsh, even on higher settings. The airflow is consistent, and it does a great job of circulating air, especially during warm days.”
And a second shopper said: “I cannot fathom, how much I love this fan. I’ve only used it for like 2 hours and since I am a student and live in an accommodation my whole room is literally freezing. I cannot wait to sleep tonight with this in my room. I hate summer, and I hate sweating. This is a life saver if you have an accommodation please get this.”
