Room inside three-star lodge 10 minutes from soccer stadium on the market at £40,000

A rundown bedroom inside a three-star hotel was put on sale for £40,000 – leaving potential buyers rather confused.

Photos showed the dimly lit space with an old-fashioned four-poster bed in the middle, a stained carpet, peeling wallpaper, and windows covered by blinds.

The 14x10ft room comes with an 8x3ft bathroom and has been described as an ideal opportunity for investors.

It is located inside a ‘three-star, independently run Edwardian manor house hotel’ in Preston, Lancashire.

The future resident will be living near Preston Docks, Preston North End FC’s Deepdale stadium and Preston University.

But some people online have been left very confused by the listing for the room in Trivelles Park Hotel, as reported by Luxury Property News.

One viewer said: ‘I’ve never seen a single room for sale before, is this normal?’

Someone else added: ‘I don’t know what this is. A room in a hotel? Do I sleep there?

‘Do guests sleep there? Do I have to eat in the restaurant? Is there room service?’

Meanwhile, a third person added: ‘This is the first time I’ve seen somewhere that actively shuts all the natural light out.

‘What on earth is behind those blinds?’

The bedroom is being marketed by Guildhall sales and lettings.

The Trivelles Park Hotel is centrally located in Preston, just a six-minute drive from the centre.

The historic red-brick building is eye catching, and the interiors boast historic features.

Originally built in 1903, the establishment is independently run and has 26 rooms in total.

It has a 7.4 rating on Expedia, and is ranked as ‘Good’, with visitors noting in particular the friendly and welcoming staff, great service and great value on prices.

The tiny room going on sale has caused much confusion

Rooms in the hotel typically start from around £55 a night.

While it might be a rather bizarre purchase to consider, it’s not the first tiny property to go on sale.

A quaint three-floor timber beach hut that boasts its own cellar was recently put on the market for significantly more than the average house in the UK.

The panelled wooden cabin comes with an open plan kitchen, a bedroom and its own cellar – all of which can be snapped up for £325,000, despite only being able to use the hut seasonally.

The 13ft by 9ft chalet offers undisturbed views of the harbour from its spot among 343 other huts on the exclusive Mudeford Spit in Christchurch, Dorset.

The hut, which is numbered as 97 on the sandbank, boasts extra space than its average counterpart – and can sleep up to eight people.

Meanwhile, a tiny beach hut the size of a garden shed was also put on the market for a staggering £110,000.

The wooden cabin is 6ft wide by 13ft long and would not look out of place in a suburban back garden.

But where a similar-sized shed might cost £800, this hut can command a six-figure sum due to its desirable location at Avon Beach, also in Christchurch, Dorset.
