Two individuals who have been on the rat virus ship are self-isolating in Britain, well being authorities say
Two British people who were onboard a cruise ship struck by an outbreak of a deadly rat-borne virus are self-isolating at home in the UK, health authorities have said.
The UK Health Security Agency said the passengers had returned to Britain independently having been on board the MV Hondius.
Neither of the individuals are currently reporting symptoms.
A spokesman said: ‘They are receiving advice and support from UKHSA and have been advised to self-isolate. UKHSA are supporting a small number of individuals identified as close contacts of those on the boat.
‘They are being offered support and are also self-isolating. None are reporting any symptoms. The risk to the general public remains very low.’
