Michael Owen is joined by Love Island star daughter Gemma and lookalike son James as they lead the celeb turnout at Chester Races

Michael Owen was joined by his children Gemma and James as he attended his second day at The Boodles Festival at Chester Races on Thursday.

The former pro footballer, 46, was joined at Ladies Day by his daughter, 23, and lookalike son, 20, as the family led the celebrity arrivals at the event.

Michael was snapped walking into the course with his Love Island star daughter, who looked elegant in a long black dress which she wore with a cropped tweed jacket.

Gemma, who is a professional international dressage rider, enjoyed the festivities rather than competing during this event.

The reality personality wore her black hair loose and completed the look with oversized Dior sunglasses and studded earrings.

She walked beside James, who looked smart in a cream jacket which he wore with a pale blue shirt and navy tie. 

Michael was wearing a navy suit with a pale blue shirt and grey tie.

Gemma rose to fame on Love Island in 2022 thanks to her romance with Luca Bish, but she is now dating horse rider Red Morgan. 

The star recently shared she’d be swapping dressage for the home straight, and she will be riding in the Markel Magnolia Cup at Goodwood on July 30.

She is currently in training for the race, and is working at Manor House Stables – which her dad established in 2007.

Speaking about the race, Gemma said last month: ‘I’m really looking forward to taking part in the Markel Magnolia Cup this year.

‘Believe it or not, I had never sat on a racehorse until a couple of months ago and the training so far has been humbling to say the least.

‘Spending more time at Manor House Stables, seeing how a racing yard runs like clockwork and getting out onto the gallops, has been an incredible experience.’

‘It is an even bigger challenge than I initially expected but I’m excited to take part in such a prestigious fundraising event which raises so much money for charities supporting women and children.’

The Markel Magnolia Cup has raised more than £3.5 million for charities supporting women and children since its inception in 2011, and this year it will raise funds for Education Above All Foundation.

Gemma unveiled her romance with Red last year, as she shared a photo of the pair joined by her father and her mother Louise Bonsall.

The Owens were joined at the event by other famous faces including Kerry Katona as well as MAFS UK stars Amy Christophers and Marilyse Elena.

There were also former sporting stars John Barnes, Steve Bruce and Nicky Butt.

Kerry, 45, opted for a fitted white dress that fanned out into an A-line skirt, teamed with a pretty matching fascinator and a pair of strappy black heels.

Pregnant reality star Amy, 36, certainly stood out from the crowd in her hat which incorporated a huge blue bird.

Amy’s white dress showcased her blossoming baby bump, which she teamed with blue heels and a floral clutch bag.
