Princess Eugenie’s ‘make or break’ battle in Andrew disaster as dad and mom ‘not centre of world’
Princess Eugenie is expecting her third child with husband Jack Brooksbank as royal expert Jennie Bond says the happy news comes amid the ongoing fallout of the Prince Andrew Epstein scandal
A royal expert has claimed that the newly announced pregnancy of Princess Eugenie could prove to be a ‘make or break’ moment for the royal and her husband Jack Brooksbank.
This is amid the ongoing crisis around her father Andrew Mountbatten Windsor and his relationship with Jeffrey Epstein.
Jennie told the Mirror: “Royal babies are always happy events – who doesn’t love the innocence of a new life, devoid of any scandal or controversy? So I think most rational people will be wishing Eugenie well – especially after the strains of the past year or so.
“And the King has made it known that he is delighted, supporting the view that he remains fond of his nieces despite the scandals engulfing their parents.”
For several months, speculation has circulated that Beatrice and Eugenie’s bond with their parents has come under enormous pressure, with some observers even suggesting that Eugenie has cut off communication with Andrew entirely.
However, according to Jennie, regardless of where their relationship currently stands, Andrew and Fergie are without doubt ecstatic about the arrival of another grandchild.
“I’m sure both Andrew and Sarah will share their daughter’s joy,” Jennie said, “Although the state of their relationship with both Eugenie and Beatrice remains unknown.”
The royal expert reckons that while controversy continues to surround the former Duke and Duchess of York, Eugenie is concentrating entirely on her expanding family, with the princess and her spouse likely drawn closer together having navigated the turbulence as one.
Jennie said: “I think the new baby suggests that Eugenie and her husband, Jack, are hunkering down together and getting on with nurturing and expanding their family unit – in spite of all the surrounding noise.
“When a crisis like this happens, it can make or break a couple, and it looks very much as if Eugenie and Jack have been brought even closer together.” Both Beatrice and Eugenie have been embroiled in their parents’ controversies after being mentioned in the Epstein files, and while their names appearing in the files doesn’t suggest any misconduct, both sisters have faced significant pressure to comment on Andrew and Fergie’s scandal.
However, according to Jennie, Eugenie’s impending arrival will take priority as she continues to maintain a low profile and lead a private life amidst the ongoing turmoil surrounding her parents.
Jennie stated: “Eugenie has been under considerable strain since the Epstein scandal blew up. She has watched her parents face public humiliation and separation after decades together, she herself has been in the headlines over her acquaintance with Epstein, and her father is still under police investigation.
“But she has her man, her sons and a new life on the way – and they, I’m sure, are now the centre of her world.”
The younger daughter of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson broke the news on Monday by posting a snap of her two sons clutching an ultrasound scan.
And former royal correspondent Jennie Bond believes that the announcement could be exactly the news that the couple need as they deal with the impact of Eugenie’s father’s dramatic fall from grace.
Buckingham Palace issued a statement declaring: “Her Royal Highness Princess Eugenie and Mr Jack Brooksbank are very pleased to announce that they are expecting their third child together, due this summer. August (aged 5) and Ernest (aged 2) are also very excited to have another sibling join the family. His Majesty The King has been informed and is delighted with the news.”
Speculation about the princess’s pregnancy initially surfaced when she and her sister Princess Beatrice were photographed during an outing in London, with royal observers theorising that Eugenie seemed to be concealing her bump before the official confirmation.
Beatrice and Eugenie have maintained a relatively quiet presence in recent months, while their parents remain embroiled in the ongoing repercussions of the Epstein controversy.
